I have supported Scotland, as I always do. But we are out, and as someone born and raised in England, I hope England win the tournament.
I appreciate there is a bit of an anti-Scotland rhetoric on here at times, but I think that's largely in response to Scotland fans over the years being incredibly anti-English, sometimes, justifiably so.
If Mexico were playing anyone else, I'd back them, anything to upset Trump and the Americans, but in the morning, I'll be fully behind England (albeit, I'll likely be asleep).

Having grown up in the 70s as an English lad in Dunfermline makes one realise the strength of the hatred most of you lot feel for us.. so business as usual no worries

Our best Scot was Billy Baxter.
Ahhh, I knew I’d missed somebody. Terrific player, was Billy. Sort of underrated in ITFC history maybe (or not?) because of his well known fallout with Robson.

I'm unequivocally supporting Mexico but for different reasons!
I think I can hazard a guess! Well, may the best team win, and you won't be hearing any of this altitude nonsense from me. It's a challenge, but the best overcome challenges.

I think maybe this ain't the forum for you, nor club, nor country. Maybe support someone north of the border then if you're that bitter! #Love Town Hate Racism

A bit like saying Rangers is a club made great by the English !
Only Rangers aren't a great club and rarely have been, just like any club in Scotland. Celtic had a top side once, now they can't even compete with ITFC on transfers. That's not an all encompassing rant at anything Scottish in football. Their fans are great and deserve better.

Ten of the Celtic players who won the European Cup were raised within twelve miles of Celtic’s stadium in the east end of Glasgow, the other player, Bobby Lennox, coming from only thirty miles away in Saltcoats.,
My uncle from Saltcoats knew Lennox and I still have the autographs of the 1970 team which reached the final of the European Cup.

Yes, I've heard the story and that is truly remarkable. The chances of that ever happening in England are zero. I saw that team and they were excellent. Things have obviously gone badly wrong in the intervening decades, and doubtless a lot of it has to do with money.

This documentary was shown on the BBC a few years ago, and is well worth a watch. It includes interviews with the players when older, most of whom are now dead.

That's nice. You'll be able to hang your Mexico World Cup 26 shirt next to your Cantona Manchester United shirt and your Haaland Manchester City shirt, you massive plastic.
