Has there been any official notification that we didnt take up the option on him or is that still a possability.

Not one who i think we should sign but cant remember seeing anything official ( does that sort of thing even have an official mention?)

Genoa Make Cajuste Enquiry 30th Jun 2026 16:40
Genoa are reported to have made an enquiry to Napoli regarding former Blues loanee Jens Cajuste. 12

"However, with the midfielder’s involvement having been limited throughout the campaign, the Blues chose not to pursue a permanent switch."

I think the lack of official mention is key. The other two signings (Akpom and Kipre) both were.

Was there not a mention that the club was trying to avoid some sort of appearance-related trigger towards the end of the season?

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Doesn't appear to be taking part in pre season training. He was only a loan

Im was pleased we re signed him last season but for whatever reason, he barely played esepcially from Christmas onwards.

If he couldn't get in our team then, he's not getting in our team in a higher, much better league.

He needs to find a team where hes going to play regularly as he can. That isn't here.

It was widely reported we didn't take up the option and I may be wrong but I thought we also avoided playing him at the end to avoid triggering a clause too.

Had two alright seasons for us, looked better in the top flight then he did the Champ.

Gutted, I loved him.

He also had the best song about him ever sung to any Ipswich player!

RIP Sir Bobby

With one goal and one assist in the Premier he was part of a team with no midfield. He wasn’t alone, but he was totally ineffective. I thought he might do better in the Championship and to a very limited extent did - but not sufficiently to warrant retaining him.

Good on the ball he has good control and is exciting to watch running with it. However, he couldn’t do the hard bits of the game, was poor in the air, rarely had a shot on goal and his final pass wasn’t always the best. He also couldn't last 90 minutes.

Overall, whilst sometimes looking good there was little end product. He is just not suited to the PL or Championship, in my view. I hope we’ve moved on.

You got the bit about not playing him to avoid triggering a clause wrong. He played at Southampton, the penultimate game.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

It was minutes with Jens from what I was told, and that person said to me the day before Soton game that there now was no way he could hit his minutes target over last 2 games of the season so I was less surprised than others to see him come on there.

Obviously not definite, but this guy is always pretty reliable and told me in advance so guess we were managing that somewhat

That sounds like the only explanation that makes sense as I was astonished to see him suddenly appear again having previously witnessed Akpom come on ahead of him in the central midfield role.

Fairy nuff. Not heard of a minutes clause before, is that normal? I imagine it could be quite annoying for a manager - at the extreme they could find themselves needing to make a change when they don't want to.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
