On last night, had we pulled it off heād have been lauded up as the best manager ever, did he go defensive too early? Maybe. But had he gone for it and we conceded people would have said why didnāt we shut up shop, couldnāt really win. The right thing to have done was probably not change it so early and kept playing that way we were.

"In this moment my feeling was no structure in the world could have helped us," Tuchel says, "because actually we were too passive and we were not physical enough, we didn't stop runners arriving in our box and the deliveries were wrong too. "I haven't seen the data yet, but I think just right after the goal the momentum swings completely and ball possession drops dramatically. "We couldn't find any duels anymore, that's why we dropped deeper and deeper, it was never the plan, but it happened. "(We) couldn't stop the runners from second line, the midfielders, through our gaps, and the deliveries were on the highest level. You need to get back on the ball, otherwise you cannot break the pressure and you cannot get the momentum back. "I think ball possession plays then a crucial role, it's maybe not in our DNA like it is in our Spanish DNA or in our Argentinian-Brazilian DNA, to take the ball and control the game with the ball."

I think we did OK, but we didnt really play anyone of note. The Mexico match was THE memory from this WC, what a night. I think thats why the surrender last night was such a disappointment. Its not a case of whether we shut up shop, its not having an out ball at least that was unforgivable.

I dont think its that binary, there is a middle ground, with sensible subs (fresh legs in attacking positions) that would have made more sense. If we had gone out fighting, it would be a lot easier to take. I will never understand the Gordon substitution.

Iām in the Tuchel camp ⦠but he and the FA might as well accept the next 2 years leading to a home Euroās is like Starmer hanging on.

How are Burn, Konza, Stones, O Reilly, Guehi, Spence, going to help us get on the ball ? One midfielder in Anderson. You want to get on the ball you donāt play 6 defenders and one midfielder. Lost the plot

I think the Mexican game and the conditions against Norway and the recovery time done as much damage as anything else, We did as well as I thought we would, I think we as supporters have to realize there are many good nations out there now it's difficult, luck plays a big part, Not sure il see us win a trophy, But never give up hope,

I don't want him sacked, but I think he should admit that his tactics were wrong. Even if he uses the caveat of hindsight. Tuchel made these comments when assessing the Euro finals loss: "They were more afraid to drop out of the tournament than having the hunger and excitement to win it." ....and they have unfortunately come back to haunt him.

We don't produce 'schemers' any more, or mercurial rugby players for that matter. When's the last time you could call an England player a genius - Gazza maybe?

Paul Scholes, who was just as good as Modric, Pirlo, Xavi and Iniesta. The Barcelona boys used to watch videos of him at La Masia. So being England, we decided to play him on the left wing to ensure Gerrard and Lampard could play together and compete to see which one could be the bigger headless chicken. Scholes, understandably fed up, retired from international football at the age of 29. 29. We really don't help ourselves.

We got a lot further than a lot expected... * Given the squad he had selected. There's going defensive & there's having 4/5 CBs on the pitch with 30 minutes to go. That is how a non league team would play it in the FA cup and tbh is pretty embarrassing. [Post edited 16 Jul 21:44]

All he did was beat teams we were expected to beat whilst playing fairly poorly with very little patterns or shape.

This is shite. We were one of four seeds the draw was made easier for by FIFA. We got to the last four. Thatās par. Then we capitulated.

It doesn't seem right to make such a decision on half a game, but it was such a big game and such a big blunder, and I think the relationship with the players is now too strained.
