Isn't that more a case of him being more switched on and up to speed for a proper crack at showing his worth in a shop window for a likely move?
I've loved watching Cam develop but he's just not the answer to anything in particular at this level, other than maybe a token few sub appearances as we drift down and get relegated without a wimper.
Please please prove me wrong and become the Suffolk Messi in the prem, but it's just a bright spark in the middle of the usual disjointed mess of a post world Cup pre season. Isn't it? |  | | |

Everyone loves a home grown player, but he was just middling in L1 last year. He isn't going to be with us in a strictly limited 25 man PL squad.

There are not many English players who can do what he does. He just does not waste the ball and can manoeuvre out of tight positions with clever footwork. I still think we need to find a place for him in the team. We are going to have some tough matches in the top flight and a player that keeps the ball is a godsend. I have said this a few times before. Hopefully when he is the best player on the pitch in front of three world cup players, two of whom scored in its latest edition people will begin to realise how good he is.
Give him a position in this team and he will take it with open hands. But not LB like our previous manager did a couple of times. I think a free role in front of the holding midfielders would be perfect.
Did we have a tactical change towards the end that show cased him or did Wycombe just get tired. What ever his final position was give it a try manager if. Also sounded like Anis had a great end to the game. Another player that will surprise people in the top flight. [Post edited 1 Aug 18:57]

On that logic though we just wouldn't make any signings and keep giving players chances.
Much respect to Cam an academy product who will go on to have a good career. But the club needs to keep levelling up. Maybe not with Kalvin Phillips again though. | |

He has 6 apps in the championship behind him at 22. I would think by his own admission he would think he is not ready for the Premier League.

Well if the football world agrees then I look forward to getting 8-10m for him. In reality, we’d do well to get a championship team to take him on loan.
