Not sure what those that watched in person thought, but judging from those highlights, we more than deserved that result. It would've been more comfortable without the Wycombe goalies performance.

I thought the same. Highlights tend to give a good summary of a game. We could have had 6 or 7 on another day, what with a couple of great saves and the woodwork.

Unless the new kits are deceptive, biggest takeaway from that is that Al-Hamadi, Mehmeti and Nunez have been putting in a few extra hours in the gym over the summer

I must admit I failed to recognise Mehmeti at first because of what seemed his increased bulk.

We started off really well with great passing and movement, and Maeda very impressive both in attack and when pressing.
After the hydration break, Wycombe came back into it and had some chances.
In the second half, it was fairly even until the hydration break when we upped our game.
Mendel was very impressive and was as good as, if not better than, Fatuwa, who always seems to cut inside.
By the way, nice to see the second goal, which we missed as we left slightly early to be at the front of the queue for the bus back to the station

Why do our keepers always seem to parry a save straight back in to the danger zone, not just yesterday but for several years at least, surely that aren't being coached to do that?

Was that a performance influenced by knowing Wycombe and them being against a team at that level? Or is he ready to play for a part for our first team?
I have always thought he is a very talented and hard-working player but that has to be tempered with him never getting to play regularly at any level above League 1. The judgment of managers seems to be that he isn't good enough for the Championship. Dyer used to rave about him, though.
I honestly wonder if there is the potential for him to be a back up player in a Premier League squad, not least because of his versatility.
I guess the ideal would be for him to go somewhere and play a full season in the Championship but there doesn't appear to be interest from clubs that will offer him that.

Anyone who was there- was Greaves as good the whole match as in these highlights?!
Yes, is the short answer. He was absolutely immense. Yes, it was only Wycombe, but he looked *chefs kiss*.
If anyone thinks that players at Wycombe looked like they'd been in the gym, can I give you Cedric Kipre. He was big before, but Kippers looks like he's just eaten the gym! Bloke was an absolute unit, but lost none of his speed or mobility. The lad looked absolutely monstrous.
Don't let the scoreline fool anyone, we were good value for the win, hit the woodwork three times and forced Hazard into a few good stops.
Maeda looks like the player Sarmiento would be if he had talent to go with his endeavour.
Fatawu looked a bit off the pace and wasn't helped that Tudor came off the bench and put in a good showing.

My question is over Humphreys:

Apart from the two goals, I wouldn't say he or Nunez did much of note in the midfield.
Neither really stood out compared the rest of the side
Humphreys did well getting into the box as the game went on, but he's so small. Never realised how tiny he is.
I really like him, but I do think he's best going off and getting a career somewhere playing week in week out, but I do think that's somewhere in a midfield three or something where he can roam without the battle aspect.
