I still can't see why they would play him then either.
If he isn't going to be with them for the start of the season why play him? What do they gain? They potentially lose out on the sale/loan which means wages off the books too. The fact he is playing would suggest they don't intend for him to go, the deal isn't very far progressed at all or that they are so short of players there is no one else to play for them instead. |  |
