| Julio loan on 22:58 - Aug 4 with 4973 views | Litfc00 | Let’s hope this is just a method of delaying payment for a year, allowing us to spend more this summer. Hope there is an obligation which is essentially guaranteed that Enciso joins us permanently. | | | |

Keeps the option open on them selling him to chelsea. That was the original plan according to that fabio fella

BlueCo will do what’s best for BlueCo. Strasbourg are merely a vehicle for them which is why the fans hate them.

Let’s see, most journalists have been reporting it’s a permanent deal. If that was the plan, why not let him stay at Strasbourg for another season, seems illogical to loan him out when he is being trained and part of the Blueco group under the influence of coaches who part of the same structure.

May be at his request? We get relegated, he heads back to the Chelsea ‘farm’

Although we could benefit if we dropped, and selling on (like Delap and Hutch) at an inflated value, but that would limit the farm to a % of the sale, whereas a loan will mean they nab the lot and we wouldn't get a penny which is why a loan is better for the farm.

It’s all about Chelsea, he gets another chance to prove himself in the prem and if he does well then Chelsea sign him on the cheap with a good season under his belt. If he doesn’t do well enough then he can go back to Strasbourg. It’s a shame to use up one of our loan spots / miss out on potential uplift but anything that gets him through the door for this season is good business in my opinion

At least he won’t count as one of our two loans from a PL team, so that avenue is still open

I'd rather we owned him, but the loan won't impact us much on loan limits - it's 2 from English clubs, but 6 international loans, so we only consume one of those 6. There is no way I think we end up with anywhere the total number of loan players we could have. The 6 international loans is loaned in and out though, so presumably Al-Hamad will also count towards the 6 when/if he goes to Poland.
| Julio loan on 11:27 - Aug 5 with 1689 views | BloomBlue | Sensible. He didn't set the world alight last time when here, shot when he should have passed, or passed when he should have shot. No other Prem team bit Brighton's hand off when available before. But hopefully last season taught him improvements in those areas. A loan with obligation is more sensible. A lot of talk about Chelsea but not sure he's good enough for Chelsea. Hopefully he can have a great season for us and then revisit the deal at the end of the season | | | |

Why a waste? We should do whatever we can to get him here regardless. And if a straight loan for the season is the only way we should be all over it. If we fill any loan spots with a better player this window i'll be impressed tbh

Guess you haven’t followed his career since he came into our awful second half of the PL season a few years back. He’d likely be our best and most high profile player. It’d be the players side protecting themselves more against a potential relegation than we are willing to in a contract I should imagine (if it were to he a loan). I think Strasbourg probably want north of 30M Euros as well so not sure how a loan works for them.

Exactly. We stay up and buy him next summer for £40m

To em, we're not protecting ourselves in that scenario. He comes here and lights it up then Strasbourg benefit, the new buying club benefits but we don't other than, admittedly, possibly survival which is our primary aim this season. But it'd be good to have some insurance on an individual level too.

He comes here and lights it up, and we stay up then we've already won the lottery regardless tbh
