Isnt it remarkable that the moon fits exactly over the sun in the eclipse.

I asked AI and apparently the sun is 400 times bigger than the moon and also 400 times further from the earth than the moon.

So the maths equals a nearly exact fit.

Thats blown my mind.

enjoy it while you can. The moon is moving away from earth at a rate of about 3.8 cm a year. In about 600,000,000 years it will no longer cover the sun.

Makes you feel rather small in the grand scheme of things, doesn't it?

But also, what an absolute stroke of luck that all of these various little coincidences fell into place to make our existence possible. That, and the fact that we all got to live in the same timeline as KMc.

On our walk to a nearby viewing point Miss Slave and I encountered an elderly couple sat in a car awaiting the spectacle. He was a military veteran wearing 5 pairs of sunglasses, they don't make them like that any more!

He offered me a go which I declined, the family in a field further along though using camera film negatives were much more convincing so I relented and very good it was too.
