Transferring tickets 19:01 - Aug 14 with 2185 viewsGreenEye

Apologies if already discussed but is this possible any more?
It seems odd not to be able to let my lad go when I'm on holiday

Yes - you can. It's really easy to do from the ticket website as long as your son has a Supporter Id and you have him in you Friends and Family on the ticket website.

Details here on how to do it: https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/20

This seems to be active for a season ticket. But I'm looking at my away ticket to Man Utd right now, and there is no option to forward it.

Maybe because it hasn’t been sent out yet? Just guessing.

I had an issue transferring one of my son’s tickets for Sunderland as I could only do it through his account and then it blocked me from upgrading because I used my debit card and it isn’t him. Over two hours waiting to talk to ticket office sorted it and I can now once again do the forwarding from my account. The reason was that I didn’t have a strong connection to him!!! Despite same surname, address and bank account for direct debit.

Away tickets are not meant to be forwarded because that would defeat the away points system.

This sounds a right palaver for someone who has zero interest in phones and computers.

Home season tickets are easy to forward on, I’m missing the Sunderland game and forwarded it to a friend with no issue.

As already said, away tickets aren’t supposed to be forwarded because of the points system. If you can’t go, don’t buy a ticket - let someone else buy it. If you’ve already bought a ticket and then can’t go, you have to return it.

Because the tickets aren’t being emailed out until Wednesday 26th August.

To forward it on forward the email on to whoever you’re giving it to and they should be able to download, allegedly, don’t advise this etc etc

True enough, and I fully intend to go to all the away games I can get tickets for. But imagine an emergency situation or sickness arising a day before the game, one which prevents the-ticket holder from going, probably not too rare an occurrence. Too late to return the ticket, but in that scenario, it would be good to pass it on to a family member or friend. But I guess that supporting such a scenario would open the way for people to game the system.

Can we not just ‘share’ the season ticket by sending it to someone’s phone ans they can use it for, theirs?

No, Ipswich have decided to adopt the NFC route (no barcode) which means you cannot just send it to someone's phone.

But that's not too late to return the ticket, is it? They're all digital. It's instant.

And the Club will be able to easily identify the accounts downloading tickets on different devices each game now, which is great.

The day before is too late according to the dates given for away games. Eg Man U away returns must be made by the Tuesday before the game on the Sunday ( I think).

You can’t forward the entire season ticket, but you can forward it for specified games provided the person that you’re sending it to has a customer number and is on your friends and family list

Returns dates are the Tuesday before the game for the first two away games.

How will they be able to identify that exactly?
