If all three fail after the massive investments they have all made, what would the owners of the three to go up at the end of this season do. Save your money and get relegated. That didn't work for Luton or Norwich.

Have Coventry really only made 3 new signings (along with making 2 of last season's players permanent signings)?
It does smack of laziness to put the top two the same as last season and the bottom 3 in the same order that they finished as promoted sides.
I am confident at least one promoted side will stay up and that Arsenal will find it much more difficult defending the title than winning it in the first place. |  |

I really can't see Hull finishing above 3 established Premier League sides.
If they somehow stay up I think Coventry and us would be joined by one other in going down.
In all honesty, I simply can't see Hull staying up.

Pretty standard really. Why would anyone expect us to finish higher at the moment? Coventry finished miles above us last season, made good signings and kept their manager. Are we really better than the other 17? We also have no idea how things will be under O'Neil yet. I don't think it's unfair to predict that we'll finish 19th. I just hope they're all wrong. |  |

I mean its a very "predictable" prediction.
Other than a handful of teams, the predictions are not far off the last season places:-
Chelsea - 10th to 4th
Spurs - 17th to 7th
Forest 16th to 8th
Bournemouth 6th to 14th
Sunderland 7th to 17th.

Go back on this site when the news about GON as mgr was breaking and you will see a large percentage of fans writing him off.. 'Failed at Wolves, lucky he inherited good players at B'mouth' etc etc. So a lot of Town fans wrote him off - maybe the pundits have looked at that.
Also believe me if things start badly, those fans will come back out of the woodwork very quickly.
Also a poster on here made a valid point yesterday on this topic, take out the Ipswich emotion and look at what we've bought, and maybe others view differently. A Burnley player relegated last season. A Leicester player relegated twice recently. Two Fulham players, a team we think we can catch, who Fulham sold as surplus to requirements. A footballer who failed at Brighton. A footballer who played in Scotland, a league many of us on here think is a lower standard than the championship and a couple of untried youngsters.

This 100%. Most of the signings mean nothing to most of the Prem teams, they don’t see anything to fear. Time will tell. We need more bodies, especially a striker and centre back. |  | | |

Until we get CM player that can break the lines a little more and a top-level established striker holding up a town shirt, I still have us going down - but I do think both happen.
Would love a LCB as well, still a bit edgy about Davis and Greaves being the main starting option for a full season.

I just don't get why so many people think Coventry are going to be alright thus season. They frankly flattered to deceive when ever I watched them last season, and we comfortably beat them twice, with virtually a brand new squad. Where are pundits getting this feeling they'll be staying up.... I just don't get it. |  |
