...but Coventry are going to stay up...apparently.

A nice thrashing to start will not help Cov’s confidence but let’s not get too smug yet as I’m sure we are going to get hammered a few times this season.

Better teams will get the same treatment this season.

To be honest, the general football fan in me finds this all a bit depressing. Having to do open heart surgery on your squad and spend over £100m to simply slightly improve your odds of staying up.

Arsenal are a very good team

Coventry's squad is very top 6 Championship rather than Premier League though.

Pleased they are losing, but suspect, like us, they expect to lose at Arsenal … the champions.

But Coventry have a world class squad, Have you not heard?

Shame Arsenal have stopped trying after their third.

Wait until they realise it can be equally as tough against teams like Brighton and Bournemouth.

It’s not a slight on Coventry, they aren’t the first or the last, but they have been dog walked by Arsenal. Chasing shadows at best all night, the gulf between the sides is stupendous.

All I will say is I could not believe my eyes when they set up in the first 5 minutes with a 2 man midfield against the ball, giving Arsenal space like that is suicidal football.

Don't think they laid a glove on the Gunners really did they. Their approach is definitely going to be " attack" on the break though, which i suspect we may well do as well.

The new centre mid they were going crazy about at cov was utterly dreadful. Tzolis for arsenal on the other hand looks unbelievable business

Much like ourselves, match results against the top teams will not decide staying up or not. Bit of a reality check though for the promoted teams. I dare say the result in our game is more important.

Welcome to the EPL! Now let's just call a spade a spade, Coventry looked like us 2 seasons ago. No real midfield control at all just got overrun. Then the Arsenal players were first to the ball then kept possession.

No gloating at all from my side but as always midfield wins you games.

Now to see how we do tomorrow.

Losing at Arsenal is hardly going to dictate if a team stays up or not. I did look at their line up prior to kick off and found myself thinking it's far too weak to make an impact at this level, though.

They have to beat Hull well, no ifs no buts

Could well be

This concept that there are no must wins until mathematically needed is misguided - of Cov hold any ambition of staying up they have to beat Hull at home

And our ambition must be to beat them home and away - 6 points is a big dent in the 40 totaliser

This was something we couldn't do last time in PL... beat the teams around us, and that included a very poor Saints side.

I’ve seen us concede 3 goals in 10 minutes in that league at home.

Leeds lost 5-0 at Arsenal early last season, but stayed up. One game doesn't define a season.

I'm actually really pleased for Norwich.

Tzolis performances are entirely down to his stint with them, and will be their major cause for celebration all year.

Good to see the little teams achieving so much.

Sky Blue Stalk looks much more subdued this morning at a glance.

I still feel they'll finish bottom, but I don't begrudge them the optimism and delusions they've carried as far as the start of the season. We've been in more or less the same place a couple of years ago, albeit I don't remember many of us being quite so bullish.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!
