Reading that Oxford review it seems the worst case shown is that there is 1 case of pericarditis and/or myocarditis attributable to a Covid vaccination (BNT162b2 vaccine, 2nd dose, male 12-17), per approximately 10,000 vaccinations.
2 things:
1. How many cases of pericarditis and/or myocarditis for that age group occur in total?
It seems there are about 2.5 million males in the UK aged 12-17.
If ALL of them had BNT162b2 vaccine, 2nd dose, (which they most definitely didn't!) that represents 250 cases - in reality probably half at most had that, about 100 cases.
i.e. against what background number of 'normal' cases did this 100 occur? I can't easily find this info anywhere, but you might know?
2. Not all cases result in a bad outcome.
I was actually hospitalised and diagnosed with pericarditis/myocarditis in 2010, ironically after trying to battle on whilst playing football on a very hot day late in the season.
I'm still here, and still very sportingly active.
