Have you seen the 'Pitch protection' squad at half time? Farcical. Plus, there are so many people out on the pitch at half time you'd never have the room! I too long for a Fred Olsen plywood cruise ship to be wheeled out to the middle for chipping into, and a target hung from the North Stand goal to shoot at. Say what you like about Evans, he knew how to put on a half time show, though I'm still haunted by the 'Silent night' dance troupe....

It depends where you are I suppose, but I’ve found it impossible to buy anything at half time for ages. Upper SAR, SBR and Cobbold have always been rammed for me. Cobbold is bloody ridiculous. I assume it’s a miss the last 5-10 mins of the first half job if you want anything, which I’m not going to do.

TWTD. I’m sure we had Escaped Goats before him, but that was the first time I became aware of any large scale targeting of a player. It was around the early internet days, so presumably that was when scapegoating became more visible.
I quite liked him. I thought he and Westy worked well together for a couple of years.

As someone who remembers 21st Century Girls committing crimes against music in the centre circle at halftime vs Swindon in 1998 (they also performed before the game started as well) I’m more than happy to sit and relax for 15 minutes, accompanied by nothing noisier than the PA man reading out the half time scores.

What happened to the marching brass bands and later the go-go girls with their large pompoms. Much more interesting to look at than sprinklers. .... Unless the go-gos and the sprinklers together ......
