I’m old school and never tire of Carlos Alberto’s fourth goal for Brazil in the 1970 World Cup Final.
The casually beautiful lay off from Pele and Alberto appears from nowhere to lash it into the corner of the net.

First World Cup I watched. I know the celebration but don’t remember the goal so I enjoyed that. Germans didn’t put a lot of pressure on the ball though.

I was in Frankfurt for the Holland England game that tournament and van basten’s first of his hat trick against England was lovely, his turn to find space was brilliant. I know England lost 3-1 but we hit the post twice when it was 0-0, one of my favourite ever games.

Van Basten's volley is my favourite ever goal. A lesser player, you may have said it was a hit and hope that got lucky, but not him. He meant that to go exactly where he put it.

Going off on a tangent, for all the brilliant goals we’ve discussed, you can’t beat a comedy own goal. There’s a Twitter account dedicated to the artform and there’s some absolute bangers on there.
