Most 'out there' formation for tomorrow, nothing conventional please by
NthQldITFC 16 Oct 9:17I'm normally pretty conservative with formations and players, but I'm getting the horn for a wild and wacky one off setup for tomorrow.
Given that 115 Citeh FC want to camp out in our half with Anderson sweeping around behind and four, sometimes five, strung across the edge of our box, I'm going for this:
================Walton
=====O'Shea======Diop=====Greaves
Ouattara=========================Davis
======Lukic======Tino=====Palacios
Emersonn======================Enciso
Key thing is two forwards hugging the touchlines with two high energy fullbacks behind them, and a solid three in front of another solid three.
The
Ouattara\Lukic_Tino_Palacios/Davis shield (backed up by a solid three last line) forces 115 into doing a lot of sideways stuff, with Ouattara and Davis capable of springing for an intercept and popping the ball around the wide 'defender' for Emersonn / Enciso to get in behind down one flank, with the other forward immediately coming narrow then to try to get into the hot zone on the counter.
Im'a call this the Ballsy Crab formation. Not a sideways, Magilton-esque crab, but a face-on, hard shell, wide spread pincers type crab.
Ballsy Crab interleaved with 115 possession formation:
================WALTON
=====O'SHEA======DIOP=====GREAVES
OUATTARA=========================DAVIS
----mf---------------fw------------fw---------------mf
======LUKIC======TINO=====PALACIOS
df----------df--------------mf-------------df-----------df
EMERSONN=======================ENCISO
-----------------------------mf
-----------------------------gk
In reality Emersonn and Enciso are marking the full backs, but looking to get behind them when Ouattara or Davis spring against the wide midfielders and pinch the ball.
