The break between the last two was because of Covid and the current break is because MGM was sold to Amazon.

Oh I disagree with this. Think the reinvention in the mid 2000’s was well overdue and took Bond to
Places it hadn’t been story wise before.

Casino Royale is up there with my favourite film of the last 25 years. If there’s the story and it’s good, people will go to it.

The last film nearly made a billion dollars worldwide..during Covid.. it’s quite conceivable that it would have made close to a billion and a half in normal times…which is what the odyssey has just done.

That film(Bond),Top gun maverick.. Christopher Nolan’s stance with Tenet then Barbenhiemer likely saved the cinema industry.

There’s talk that they will make a James Bond show at the new Universal Studios UK that is similar to the Bourne Stuntacular in North America.

Think that could be equally impressive.

That's why, over the years, he's been Scottish, English, Welsh and Irish (even female briefly).

That's my solution to the problem anyway.

I really liked Skyfall it is a really good film. Casino Royale just tapped into something for me at my age during that period. The card game scene was amazing imo, edge of the seat stuff, brilliantly filmed.

I wouldn’t massively argue with you that Skyfall is the better film, but it didn’t connect with me

Add in the fact that CR reset the whole character of both Bond the character and the tone of Bond films, there’s much to admire. Without Casino Royale the whole franchise would have been long gone

Skyfall is almost certainly the best standalone film but I don't know many other Bond fans who would say it's their favourite film if that makes sense.

Thunderball or The Spy Who Loved Me would get my vote - closely followed by OHMSS - with Lazenby. Massively underatted that one.
