Had always assumed Harry Kane was another of those stars we'd missed witnessing here during the dark years. So was surprised to see he did play us twice, once for Millwall when we lost 3-0 and once for Leicester when we won 1-0. He never scored though and in the Leicester game he seems to have had a bit of a mare.
One of my Leicester supporting mates said he was absolute crap for them, which made me think. We've had a few of those young striker type loans who have been sub par at the time. There's every chance of a Dane Scarlett or Troy Parrott going on to win the Ballon D'or, which is mad really.
I knew he’d played against us as someone mentioned it a while back but he had a phase of his early career where it just didn’t stick at any club, not that surprising given he was loaned out a lot. It’s strange to think he is sort of slept on as an England great by many people too.
I remember the Leicester game having re-watched the Didz winner, it rekindled the memories. It was a late winner well -celebrated at the time. It was revenge as they beat us 6-0 earlier in the season. cannot remember any youngster called Kane. Pitch was terrible as it was that time when the watertable was high because of spring tides and high rainfall and the soil was ruined by salt which is bad for grass. They had to replace soil and turf at the end of the season. The video on that link did not work for me so I found this.

There is no chance of either Troy Parrott or Dane Scarlett doing that.

Ah the "come dressed as a blue seat" days.
Don't particularly remember the game but certainly remember the pitch.
Scout came back from the game and said he didn’t really do much, then within a week he got a run of games for Spurs, started scoring and the rest is history. .

We scouted him when he was a youngster.

I was told at the time that we were about to sign him on loan for a season; it would have been 2014/15. The paperwork was ready, both clubs agreed. But Spurs had a preseason US tour and were short on players as their World Cup group hadn't rejoined. Pochettino took Kane, who had a really good tour; as a result, Poch decided he wanted to have "another look at Kane", the loan didn't happen, and, within weeks, his breakthrough season was underway.

The idea of Harry Kane playing upfront with Daryl Murphy sounds absolutely ridiculous.

Thank you for posting that link. I was at the game and my view of McGoldrick’s finish (what a class player) was not a million miles from the camera position.
I certainly had no memory of Kane playing for them or for Millwall, which I also saw.
The pitch was well and truly worn out and dead as Elvis by then. It was hardly surprising the players were giving it a good old hoof.
Edit: the crowd was 17,000. How times change.

No recollection of the Leicester game though I would have been there. My memory of the 0-3 against Millwall was Liam Trotter's excellent strike on his return so I know for sure I was at that one.

I thought Lankshear was decent but not spectacular against us. This year he’s absolutely upped his game and is being spoken about as a possible Kane successor!

And we got Conor Sammon instead!
Kind of suprised Sammon got as many as 19 appearances in 14/15 as that was Murphy's wonder year and McGoldrick and then Sears was playing as second striker. He was pretty poor, though whole-hearted.
