Apart from the first 5mins….. 15:59 - Nov 8 with 632 viewsChrisd

We were second best. Bournemouth didn't really need to get out of second gear. We didn’t create enough in that final third. Thought that was one of our most disappointing performances this season so far.

Decent team Bournemouth, that’s why a lot of people on here would have been happy with a draw.

That’s why Waltons stupid error is so frustrating, completely changes the game state and means Bournemouth can stay compact and counter. Same as Liverpool game

In terms of stats quite possibly, but Bournemouth did a job on us and kept us comfortably at arm’s length. Like a good boxer using their jab against their opponent. Even when Clarke scored with the penalty, it was all huffing and puffing afterwards we didn’t really put them under any sustained pressure. Teams like Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford are providing the blueprint of where we need to get to.

Too many players had poor games for us but they were a well organised decent side with the confidence of being on very impressive form.

We are going to lose games this season and that one wasn't a huge surprise. We could easily have got a draw without the mistakes we made but wouldn't have deserved it if we had have done. They were the better side.

Yep it was costly well beyond just being a goal itself. Killed the crowd and the momentum of the game in and instant.

Walton was solid after which is good mental strength but it was absolutely mental. It wasn't even on to do. He turned right at him. Madness.

We would not have deserved an equaliser and the fans certainly wouldn’t have. Atrocious atmosphere….so much so even when we won a penalty there wasn’t a cheer.

I think Bournemouth showed how to play a game of Premier League football.
They knew exactly when to go long to relieve pressure and worked much smarter overall - it feels like our positioning to get the second ball isn’t as good and some players often slow to anticipate. We’re also getting caught offside from crosses far to often.

The main thing tactically for me is a similar problem we had with KMc. We don’t try and get in behind enough with balls from our defensive third to either win a cheap attacking throw or stretch the defence. Everything is in front which is far easier to defend and allows the defenders to play higher up the pitch making the press easier and reducing space for our midfield.

Also I understand trying to keep but I think today we were guilty of going back to Diop and O’Shea far too easily which killed a number of attacks and put us under pressure. We have some skillful attackers so why not be a bit braver as after all we’re probably too brave in our defensive third.

Finally a quick word for Florentino. His best game for us I’d say.

This. Ball going through keepers hands against Liverpool. Walton today amd last week. Terrible defending most games.

Hmm..the fact we conceded soft goals at the start of each half played into their hands.
Yes, we were frustratingly offside too often & Mr Hooper liked blowing for minimal offences from our attack.
Yes, a bit too much passing back to the CBs, who aren't at all creative.
Also Walton got a lot of stick for dithering over distribution, partly as a result of his brainstorm for their first goal.

Stats suggest it was generally fairly even across the whole game.

I think the first half was pretty even, but the mistake hurt us badly and gave them momentum they lacked before the goal. The match was killed off in the second half before it even got going. I was disappointed with how very little impact we had going forward at 2-1.

The game became very scrappy after 1-2, with Bournemouth happy to waste time & break the game up with petty fouls. That was arguably good game management from them & we didn't create much. Our only strikes at goal were 2 dangerous free kicks from Enciso.
