It wasn’t a good performance, we were miles off Bournemouth for 70 minutes and still hardly forced a good save in the rest of the match

Good performance? What were you watching? Even at 0-2 down we were passing the ball sideways and backwards to nowhere, zero sense of urgency, we had 100 more passes than Bournemouth yet their goalie could very well had a picnic in goal!

We were better team first half.

Not over the top. I think GON comments spot on.

We weren't outplayed today at all.

We just didn't create enough clear chances from the control we had.

First half I thought we played some really good stuff, albeit without getting enough shots off.

Decent response to second mistake in second half in the end.

Ouattara, Maeda linked up nicely.

Take the mistakes out and 0-0 probably fair.

Not sure it was a good performance Dozzerz.

I dont think it was terrible either, but we had almost zero goal threat in that second half.

The soft penalty gave us an inkling of hope, but we never ever looked like building on it.

Who knows how that game would have panned out without Walton's error? That's three frustrating thing for me, i think we could have got something.

Perhaps not by our high standards this season but we were in the game mistakes aside. Don't think we looked outplayed by Bournemouth at any point.

Goal threat was an issue, agree. We get in some great positions and don't make enough of them.

But I thought first half we were decent.

We were poor and weren't ever in the game. Bournemouth missed a sitter at 7 minutes to make it 2-0 and had a few half-chances. We created next to nothing all game, and Bournemouth fully deserved the win.

They were much, much better than us in the first half

Looking neat in the middle of the pitch while being useless in the defensive and attacking thirds of the pitch isn't playing well.

I agree with the OP’s viewpoint approximately 0.5% of the time but I didn’t watch the same game as everyone else if the consensus was we were outplayed. As I said on another thread, I thought Bournemouth showed absolutely nothing, much like Fulham, and if we hadn’t gifted them two ridiculous goals I didn’t see them scoring if we played all night.

Agreed. We looked ok in spells and competitive between the boxes. But they were pretty much in control throughout. There’s not point deluding ourselves.

I want whatever you’ve had.

Comfortably our worst performance of the season. League One keeping, scared to put a challenge in at the back. Didn’t lay a glove on them going forward, we had 2 shots on goal - one of which was a penalty.

All for positivity, but describing that as a ‘good performance’ is MAGA levels of delusion.

Hes still living in 2022 and ignores the ambition. The ' not putting a ceiling on what we can achieve' target the owners have

£380 odd mill what ever spent across three prem windows and we still gift goals away.

Reasons to be cheerful, 1, 2, 3.

1. We have scored the last goal in 8 of our 10 games. This shows a great degree of resilience and is in marked contrast to the last Premier League season where it was often us conceding late in games.

2. I don't think we are being cut open as much as we were in that season and we appear to be more potent in front of goal with 10 different goal scorers, admittedly without necessarily creating loads of good chances.

3. We played the 11th best team in the world today according to Opta , and I didn't think they were anything special. But obviously it is going to be difficult if we gift them goals early in the first and second half.

We just need to concentrate on not making stupid errors and not conceding early on.

Bad mistakes, yes but it wasn’t a good performance or even bad - it was mostly just ok, which when you make bad mistakes isn’t good enough.

Hopefully the international break will allow the coaching staff to work on issues and for the players to regroup.

Bournemouth are a very good side and will finish in the upper end of the table and for that reason I’m not going to be overly negative.

No. Nowhere near good enough.

Poor keeper. Poor defence. Little in attacking threat. No points.

2 points from last 12. Won’t keep us up.

That was easily our worst performance of the season so far.
Disastrous at the back, overrun through the middle and static attackers waiting for the ball coming to their feet.

It was a poor performance, second best and other than a penalty and free kick I don't recall a shot on target.

Bournemouth showed nothing, yet scored twice and missed a sitter?

We could have played Boreham Wood today instead and they’d have scored those goals. Any team would when you basically let them walk it in the net.

And this thread has both. It wasn't a good performance. It wasn't a bad performance. But Walton's mistake changed the game. It felt like we started like we finished at Hull, with promising moves and nice interaction. The gift gave them a boost and deflated us. It would have been a very different game without it.

Despite that, I still want to see us switch to a back three moving forwards. We are making too many basic mistakes at the back to survive.

We need to get oshea back in his comfy rcb role. We miss his diags to davis as hes the only one at the back who played it.

entirely agree. Swapping Diop and O'Shea seemed like unnecessary tinkering. Strange decision.

Even a back three would help with that - we could have O'Shea at RCB, Diop in the middle and Greaves at LCB.

Yep agree

Balanced left footed lcb who can play faster to the left
Diop central so could roam out
Oshea rcb.

It seems so obvious
