Selling crab and fresh fish in Cromer.

He took over from Thijssen in the winter of 83 if memory serves.

His whelks were good.

I believe I remember him hitting the corner flag with a penalty back in the late 80's.

Might be mistaken though.

So now we know. The one thing Mark Brennan isn't doing is selling crab and fresh fish in Cromer.

Remember him smacking one in off the post from 20 yards against Brighton at the old Goldstone Ground, which must have been 1987 i think (was the season we ended up losing to Charlton in the very first play offs)

That doesn't sound right. Frans Thijssen was playing football in the winter of 1983, not selling crabs.

There’s one game at Portman road, can’t remember who it was against, but there was a moment when he had the ball just into our half with only the keeper in their half... and the expectation as he went forward with the ball to go one on one, but failed to beat the keeper is one memory I have of him. Anyone else remember that and fill in the blanks of my memory?

I can't believe you're accusing Fergal of making something up.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I would never do that. Actually I think it is great that he was able to take time out from his African bike ride to post this.

He might mean Cromer, Manitoba. Although he'd still be 'mistaken' about the pier as there doesn't appear to be one.

That's a very good point. Even Mickey Stockwell was building up his business In his spare time and Steve Whitton's driving school was still in its infancy 😉

The only time I have seen a pedalo along the North Sea coast was when the Aberdeen to Shetland ferry broke down and Fergal stepped in to rescue the day by not only providing a relief service but also organising all 182 passengers and crew to form an inverse human pyramid with the strongest man at the bottom filling in the space behind Fergal. How that never made the Six o'clock news I will never know. Especially as he achieved a record journey time of ten minutes and twenty seven seconds...against a force six head wind...while being attacked by sea monsters...armed with thermo-nuclear weaponry...
