I’ll be honest. I used to find Toby Young an interesting writer. I defended him in here a couple of times when I felt he had be misrepresented.

Indeed. They are usually not libertarians at all but rather white nationalists. They want the state to protect them entirely from anyone who might infringe on them doing what they want, and that list tends to include immigrants and Black people protesting against racism. What they don't want is the state to ever tell them what they can and can't do. They actually support a kind of selective authoritarianism rather than anything that could meaningfully be described as libertarianism. | |
