People kept saying he was quality, I have to say I'm not impressed. Two errors from him for that goal and he was at fault for Sunderland's opener the other day. We got relegated letting the likes of Chalobah and Pennington try to iron the mistakes out of their game whilst gifting goals to the opposition, I don't want us to be doing the same with McGuiness.

Look what’s around him in defence though. Laughable.

I know what you mean about Pennington, because he could look rock solid at times but made bad errors. But I think McGuiness was class at Sunderland bar the goal, and I'd say he's been more good than bad overall.

What a bizarre comment. You can't blame those individual errors on his teammates, they were on him.

We have Nsiala and Wilson as the alternatives. He is an upgrade.

Comes with the territory of being a young player making his first steps in senior football. You accept the inconsistency and odd mistake will come but unfortunately we’re not good enough as a team to carry that.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

The key word be8mg “ team” mates. Understand8mg amongst players will be missing in this eleven.

Thought you’d have understood that.

But this is the problem. You can't have defenders who look good on the whole except for the massive mistake they make that leads to a goal. Pennington was the same, Nsiala is the same often as well. It's the reason we can't trust Nsiala in fact, but at least he's our player. There's no value in developing someone else's rookie centre back if they're making those kind of mistakes.

What about at Sunderland where he completely missed a routine ball into the box?

Harsh to blame Mcguiness as ball just hit him.

I would question why a people was able to shoot from the edge of our box completely unmarked.

I'd accept it more if he was our player as well. We may as well have given Ndaba his head rather than signing someone else's error-prone rookie.

In fairness Kenlock was equally at fault for the second... spent a good few seconds just staring at their bloke bringing the ball down out of the air, making no effort to put him under pressure. Original header away was poor though.

It was his weak clearing header that led to the chance. And he stuck out a leg, it didn't just hit him. Poor defending.

The defence today has no organisation about it does it. Or can’t you see that either?

Beyond harsh of a guy that's been about our top performer in his appearances for us thus far. He's got all the attributes to be a very good player as he's demonstrated. He wins everything in the air. Toto is a car crash positionally today.

Okay, you're right. Any mistake McGuiness makes is everyone else's fault. My bad.

Think it’s a bit harsh to write him off as error-prone already, though agree with the general point re: playing our own.

Come on. Hes 19 and played about 5 senior games.

Hws got the worst centre back to grace the shirt as captain next to him, leading him and the full backs and goalie are hardly great either.

Wilson and Nsiala (and chambers) get criticised cos they are seasoned pros.

Do people think Nsiala is a youngster or something? His naivity makes him look like one but hes not.

He's been at fault for 2 goals in his 3 and a bit appearances. I think you might have Pennington syndrome.

There's no syndrome, he looks like a very good player. If you can't see that then perhaps it explains why you're a Huws fan girl and you think this shower is an improvement on having Judge in there.

He's made basic errors that have led to goals twice in just under 3 and a half games. I don't understand why we are playing someone else's rookie CB so that he can get these errors out of his system. It there was any long term benefit to us it'd make more sense.

Since the second goal he's had to cover for Toto on numerous occasions though. Toto seems to keep getting caught too far up the pitch and the forward is constantly in behind him.

No idea what he thinks he's doing.
