There definitely needs to be an investigation as to where the security was - and why the request for National Guard assistance was declined. Almost as if certain people wanted the job to gain access to Capitol Hill. | |

Trump actively encouraged them to protest at the building, so I suppose it's possible he or his staff stood down security (or didn't call for police support). May not be the case of course, I'm not familiar with the normal situation there. | |

Didn’t they send in the National Guard against all those mums who were protesting as well? The contrast in policing according to which political side and demographic is being policed is incredibly stark. Which reinforces BLM’s point (not that Trump supporters will see it that way). | |
