My team in his 4231 on 12:51 - Mar 8 with 4052 views | PattiswickBlue | Wilson is such a limited footballer, in everything I have read about Cook he hates not retaining possession. How many times do we see Wilson needlessly head the ball or kick the ball out of play, when he should be able to find a team mate. With the way Cook wants to play Wilson doesn’t fit in. Woolfenden is a ball playing CB and Cook builds his sides from the back, he has had a Ball Playing CB in everyone of his successful sides and unfortunately that is not Wilson or Nsiala. Does it not worry anyone else that despite Wilson being 32 he has never been a first choice CB for a club apart from Oldham. Also, he wasn’t deemed good enough for a league 2 side when we got him?

He us our player and he has a future. There is not a big enough gap between out of form woolf and toto or Wilson to justify leaving him out. Wilson is a do a job player but so limited and toto just makes too many mistakes.

The three behind Norwood are all playing out of their favoured position. I know the plan is for them to move around a bit but I'm not sure they work together as a three.

All three players are flexible and have proven they can play anywhere across that line and have previously swapped over in games. I.e Judge going central and Parrot going out wide.
My team in his 4231 on 13:38 - Mar 8 with 3818 views | clive_baker | Depends which Woolfenden and Lankester turn up, as the ones we've seen this season have been dire. Both have just about enough credit in the bank for us to put that down to the previous regime though I would suggest, and give them a fresh start under Cook. Think I would probably play Judge deeper, alongside Downes. Their industry in there should offer good protection defensively and I would love to see Bishop receiving the ball from them in their half, and dropping the shoulder. Ultimately the whole system largely depends on those 'wide forwards' and we don't really have anyone you can truly hang your hat on to put the shift in and create. Lankester and Dobra are wildcards, Bennetts is absolutely toss and Sears is probably finished. I would stick Edwards on the left, as he's about the most proven in that role we have. Perhaps one of the younger ones on the other side, but I would be nervous with both. Parrott might be best used out there, he definitely puts a shift in. [Post edited 8 Mar 2021 13:42]

Spurs see Parrott as a number 9, playing him out left isn't his role. Edwards is more effective from the left. None of those three are really that comfortable playing on the right of that attacking three. I think at the moment we'd be best off using Parrott as an impact sub to come on for Norwood when he's run himself into the ground. He seems to have the touch and movement to play that role if we get people around him.

Let’s not forget Parrot and Judge were operating in those positions prior to Saturday. Whilst we haven’t been free flowing scoring goals, we beat two ‘promotion rivals’ so they’re more than capable. Edwards needs to get his form back from the start of the season, but he’s the best winger we have at the club by a long way in my opinion. I like Parrot where he’s playing to be honest, think his technical ability is second to none, in regards to his first touch. I think he carries the ball forward very well, which Judge lacks. Whilst I’m fully behind playing our youngsters when the time is right, 15 games to go whilst chasing wins definitely isn’t the time, for me. I think you’d be absolutely stupid to leave Edwards, Bennetts, Thomas out just to play Lankaster and Dobra. I’m sure their time will come.

When you say current form..... Matheson has played 2 games? Both have been patchy Edwards has had 1 game this season where he has been 7/10 ot better and not since his injury return Parrott is undecided really, for of his good running and flashes of control and strength he also has had some shocking moments Judge is better centrally Wilson is incredibly limited but doing a job Downes has been poor since returning overall and was iffy before then So when you form is that what you really mean?

What have Bennetts and Thomas, and indeed even Parrott thus far, contributed to make you want to play them ahead of the likes of Lankester and Dobra?

My team in his 4231 on 14:24 - Mar 8 with 3654 views | NthQldITFC | Holy Matheson Chambers Woolfenden Kenlock Downes Bishop Judge Dozzell Jackson Norwood With the more mobile fullbacks, the 3 can play a lot narrower than we've been used to, with Dozzell in a more advanced role, acting as forward pivot and playing killer balls for Norwood and Judge, and a free-running Jackson. Bishop and Dozzell to swap roles to some extent to mix it up. Overlapping fullbacks to use the space created particularly by giving Jackson a bit of a roaming role. Subs: Parrot, Edwards and Dobra as impact subs, Lankester, Skuse to shore things up, Ward and Wilson probably.

When I say form, it’s the best we have available at the moment, also factoring in our recent results. Matheson - If we’re moving Chambers to CB, we don’t have any other option to play there. Edwards - Whilst it wasn’t a high bar, he was our best player before his injury. As much as you don’t like it, he’s by far the best winger at our club. Parrot - Has been part of the side that before Saturday was unbeaten in 5, beating 2 promotion rivals. As posted above, he might not be scoring goals at the moment, but his work rate and technical ability is above anything we have at the club at the moment, would be incredibly harsh to drop him. Judge - Has been our best player since the turn of the year. Judge doesn’t stick to a position, so having the 3 players suggested across the line behind Norwood allows them all to alternate. Wilson - Since coming into the side has definitely steadied the ship, we appear a lot more solid at the back. Similarly to Parrot, was a big part of the little unbeaten run prior to Saturday. Downes - Is the best player at this club, we looked incredibly weak on Saturday before he came on; he gives that bite and why would you not play your best player?

Bennetts and Parrot contributed to us going 5 games unbeaten, prior to Saturday. Thomas, it hasn’t worked out for him here yet; but there’s clearly a player in there. Let’s not forget Dobra has appeared for us 6 times this season and let’s be honest, didn’t really do much. Lankester 13 times and again didn’t really do an awful lot. Worth noting, I think they’ll both be good players here and they will get their time, but right now isn’t it for me.

Both also played in the defeat at the weekend and Bennetts actually missed the first of our 5 game unbeaten run, although playing in that 0-0 draw against Northampton is nothing to write home about. Parrott has made more appearances than Dobra and hasn't offered all that much from what I've seen. Eight games with no goals or assists for an attacking player isn't a great return. Bennetts has made more appearances than Lankester and has fewer goals and assists, so I'm not sure why you think he merits persisting with. He flatters to deceive for me. I fear you're placing a lot of stock in a recent run of decent results where we played okay but not great, and where the players you're lauding actually didn't do all that much to directly contribute to the positive results. We need to get better and I don't think the players you want to stick with are doing all that much to justify their places just now, certainly not enough to just write off our own youngsters being given a chance instead.
