Loved Gatesy - always good for a free kick around the box.
Standing behind the goal I was in direct line of Powers freekick. From the moment he took it it was obvious where it was going. The pain still lingers.

“But you then win the Uefa Cup so you think: ‘Thank f**k for that... You’re happy, but I wish I’d won the other two."
Imagine not being satisfied with that. That's a winning attitude.
I also liked this: "“It was stupid . . . Alan Brazil would be throwing snowballs at me...You’d be taking it seriously and all of a sudden you’d get a snowball in your face!” During the game.

That team, that season, that manager.
I know there are folks on here lucky enough to have experienced the holy trinity, but as the song says two out of three ain't bad.
'A core of 12 shouldered the majority of the marathon 66-game season which, in the end, proved too much.' Yes, you need a squad of around 45 to get relegated.

Oh I see we've given up on the with-holding of the informative PM then.
You do know I'm on hunger strike until that arrives?
I've almost lost 3 pounds now. It's approaching dangerous levels of weight loss.
And that's over 3 weeks pal.
Every time i'm promised a solution it doesn't happen. Spoiler: it's a new job. Told you it wasn't exciting. Got the daft idea in my head that I would jinx it.
They emailed me Friday morning confirmed I still wanted it etc and asking when I could start then nothing.
People might remember my hatred of my last job. This one would be night and day. It's perfect for me and actually decent. This has dragged on about six weeks now. I'm stressed! I just want to hear...hopefully tomorrow.

Eric was such a good footballer, one of Town's greats. I remember when he left to join Sunderland in 1985, I was as disappointed as I've ever been with a player leaving Ipswich. I believe one of the reasons we were relegated in '86 was because of no Eric, he was a big reason why we had stayed up the previous two seasons.
Check out his goals at Anfield on YouTube in 1984, around 2'25 and 5'00. The second one is a thing of beauty.
