Perhaps with the rumour of another club going in for perm, we've tried to jump in with loan offer which im assuming he would be able to sign from Dijon... ( Don't think you do medicals for loans etc do you?) [Post edited 13 Jul 2021 12:32]

I think medical are still done for most loans, but clubs sometimes get a player on loan rather than a permanent on deadline day to avoid having to do one if they’re struggling for time. |  |

Sorry but I really don’t see this. It’s not totalitarian because the club can’t FORCE journalists to stay silent. They can make the point that it’s better for the club if journos exercise a bit of discretion, which is somewhat different to ‘towing the line’. Sounds like Phil did this……result:- in demand striker signing over the line. Fans happy. Journos get to report on this. Everyone wins. Grateful to the local media on this one. | | | |
