Something I like about Cook..... 17:07 - Nov 4 with 1211 views | Dubtractor | I know it's PR waffle, but I love that he continually refers to us as a 'big club' in interviews, especially when setting out expectations from players. It's a small thing, but compare it to Lambert continually referring to other big clubs, and therefore implying we were anything but, and it's nice to see. The continual playing down of the club, and our expectations, over the latter half of the Evans era really was a stain on out club, and it is hugely refreshing to have moved away from that. Of course we're still in league 1, and have a battle to get out of it this season, but the attitude and outlook is so much better than it was.

Lamberts view summed up in one quote; "It's a massive club Ipswich Town, but the negativity attached to it is huge."

Something I like about Cook..... on 18:02 - Nov 4 with 889 views | SomethingBlue | Early on he would talk about ITFC’s potential with real fire in his eyes (I can attest to it!). For a while it was pretty refreshing, to be fair to him. But the shame was it didn’t really last and he seemed to get too bogged down in grievances that just didn’t help anyone. You are right about Cook. It’s important to act like a big club (while retaining humility given we’ve done nothing yet, granted). Hopefully we are seeing a change in the way ITFC carries itself in general.

Something I like about Cook..... on 18:25 - Nov 4 with 810 views | Keaneish | It’s bigger than that in my view. He often says, “we are Ipswich”, which immediately sets a mental approach about what to expect and how we’ll approach it without really saying very much at all. It’s a phrase which implies a philosophy, which he then backs up by saying, “we go to win every game”. What more can you ask for really? It’s so basic but it’s being backed-up, which is something we haven’t had since, maybe Magilton or further back.

I thought he was talking about St Mirren. I don’t know about others, but when I hear or read PLs name I start feeling queasy. It’s one of those bits of ITFC history that I hope gets buried down a deep hole and forgotten quickly. God, I was happy when he was shown the door. Even more so than Hurst, weirdly, who somehow never seemed to be here.

Banter innit. It can't get worse than Keane and Jewell. Oh. It can't get worse than Hurst. Oh... Ridiculous.
