What next 19:43 - Nov 20 with 1673 views | boncho1977 | If we lose on Tuesday then there will lots of pressure on Cook. The problem is who is out there to replace him. I think we have a great squad but many of our players are impact players who play well in spells but go missing for parts of the game - Aluko, Celina and Edwards First half today we were excellent, 2nd half we controlled without creating any chances. By the end the team looked tired and Sunderland could have scored more I do wonder about fitness

Play offs - definitely staying , 7-10th think he will hang on by skin of teeth. Below 10th he is in big trouble.

After Crewe, our next league game is an in form Charlton followed by a trip to leaders Wigan then a home game against the side who beat us today. A decent run upcoming?

Well that’s the test isn’t it. The challenge. At this stage of the season last year, we ran into a sequence of games where the result was a forgone conclusion. Whether it was Hull, Sunderland or Swindon at home, losing was inevitable. The next four games, we could easily lose the lot or just as easily win them. We are that inconsistent, but these are the challenge. We may have lost but we haven’t been outplayed by anybody since Bolton. In conclusion, I wouldn’t rule a good run out.

We do everything we have so far to make Ipswich Town an interesting club again and then go and employ Neil Warnock? Don't see it.

What next on 21:23 - Nov 20 with 1289 views | Swansea_Blue | Nah, Rotherham are firm favourites. So it'll get chalked up as inevitable if we lose, and probably rightly so. Cook's position isn't about individual games. The only question of any importance is over what period are the owners/CEO expecting to see significant progress and us challenging for promotion? All the rest is just noise until we get there or until they run out of patience and go with someone else. But they won't be changing any time soon I'd have thought. Possibly they may look to change if we go on a dreadful run from here to the end of the year to give the new guy the January window. That's probably unlikely as well, but I'm only guessing. We don't know how they operate, but they've been keen to stress patience so far.

With all due respect your first paragraph is definitely not rightly so. ....or shouldn't be. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I'm convinced had we appointed Warnock on New Years Day 2000 we'd have gone up that season. Instead we gave Lambert a 5 year contract. Not sure I feel the same now. Whilst I'm yet to be convincedv we should stick with PC. I still think we'll get into the play-offs.

It's right. Whether it should be so is another matter altogether. Rotherham's away record is one of the best in the league, concededing only 3 goals so far. They're also 10 points above us by November. They're obviously favourites and that should be taken into account. Edit - I'm not happy about it, as it's a depressing thought. That's the level we're at these days though. [Post edited 20 Nov 2021 21:42]

We did go up that season. We won the playoff final on 29 May 2000. I remember it well.

Charlton are sh111t, Wigan are sh111t and Sunderland are sh111t so not that inconceivable. Admittedly we are also sh111t but it is league one
