You'd have thought Evans would have had enough by now. 22:30 - Dec 9 with 1266 viewsCheltenham_Blue

In any case, if Evans wants to buy a stake in Huddersfield, won't he have to sell his share in GC20?
Aren't there rules about this kind of stuff?

I looked it up and it is possible, bearing in mind he owns shares in Gamechanger rather than the club per se.

Sorry! He's gone though, has no input into the club now.

Not if he does the same things he did here, he has no chance.

He obviously still fancies a piece of the premiership pie, but if he hasn’t learnt from here (which he showed no signs of doing whilst owning us) he pissing his money up against the wall.

Let's see what happens with his 'input' if we start getting going/close to the Prem. I've a feeling he won't be quite so silent at that point.

The rest of the ownership group will need to buy him out at some point I think, and he's going to want a lot of his £100m back.

I wouldn't wish him on any other club. Except Norwich...

He should fail and fit and proper owner test due to sheer incompetence.

You know what our luck is like though - I can just see the news in 2030...

"Crisis at Ipswich Town as they lose 8-0 at Portman Road to Westerfield United and suffer their ninth consecutive relegation from the Suffolk & Ipswich League Senior Division.

In other news, Huddersfield Town win the Champions League again, securing their fifth consecutive quadruple"

He thinks that if it wasn't for the numbskulls who forced Mick out then he would've gotten away with it!

its a tax right off thing isnt it ;)

I think its like someone pointed out the other day if you buy a club for say 50million in a lower league, get them in the premiership, you can sell them for 500million potentially, its not a bad investment on that basis, but you have to speculate to accumulate like Gamechangers have done and Evans never really did that at Town after Jewell hence the decline

maybe Huddersfield setup is different to Town and theres more assets that make financing easier, I dont know, we shall see

Huddersfield is quite a complicated deal I expect - Hoyle (who I know Evans has had a good relationship with) owns 25% and is, I think, funding the club again at the moment. I would imagine Evans is more open to being a majority investor now though and leaving Hoyle and some of Hoyle’s family as the face. I don’t think the ground ownership is straightforward either but could be wrong on that.

Evans has the resources to buy a distressed asset (much like ITFC was way back when) so think this one is right up his street. I doubt he’ll hold for as long as he did with us though!
