When you reckon the Aussies will tie up the series?

I reckon we'll get a lead of 75 so that will probably be around 5.00am...

In Root, Stokes, Buttler, Bairstow and Robinson, we have the potential to put a lot of runs on the board. The only really valuable batsman we've lost so far is Malan.

Put in the same determination the bowlers did yesterday and this could go a long way yet. Play wibbly rash shots and it'll be all over quick.

If the Aussies bowl like they did yesterday evening, I’ll be surprised if we are able to make the 82 needed to make them bat again.

Only two of those have a respectable test average. I wouldnt bank on any of them bar Root.

Abject. Wouldnt rule out an innings defeat at this point.

It's like Australia are playing Brian Lara's cricket on the PlayStation on ultra easy level.

This tour is an absolute shambles, and to think we gear selection for every series towards it.

Just end the tour. This is a f***** disgrace. No other words for it. Sick to death of listening to it and the crap like 'harsh words said' that is spouted in between.

The worst thing is there is no easy way to fix this.

You can't just magic up good test batters overnight.

This isn't good, not just for this ashes but for the foreseeable future. Add in Jimmy and Broad potentially retiring. Dire straights

To think England didn't want state games preparation as the standard isn't good enough.

That couldn't have been any worse could it?

I knew we couldn't bat but this has been terrible, what an outrageously one sided series

5 - 0 looks fairly innevitable barring some weather or CoVid intervention

Plenty of swords awaiting falling on back at the ECB & within England management.

"Humiliation" and "joke" amongst the words used by English & Aussie commentators.

Feel sorry for Root now having to make a gracious speech after such an embarrassing capitulation by England.

The reality is the state sides probably turned England down as they face greater competition in the Sheffield Shield and didn’t want to lower their standards playing our shambles of a national side?! Going to be really interesting to see the fall-out over the coming months. Red ball cricket in our country needs an ever bigger overhaul than the one we did for the one day side after being humiliated in the 2015 World Cup. There needs more balance given to the longer format, so the white and red ball games are on an equal footing.

We’re not short of decent bowlers, no Jofra or Stone in Australia they’d definitely been playing if fit.

The batting is a real problem as we really don’t have much in reserve.
