Feels like the Mick Jan 2015 window as a comparison..

Ambition...... lets see how much we have and buy both....

Is Bonne likely to go back also?

Do we have a recall on Simpson out of interest? That's probably plan B to either resigning Bonne or a replacement

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

I think Bonne will tell QPR to shove it up their arse if they recall him.

The first real test was how they dealt with the Cook situation and who they were able to get in as his replacement. And I think that one surprised us all!

Not sure there’s much of a comparison tbh. We were top of the Championship not mid table in League 1. We also didn’t have a salary cap to contend with. Owners may be ambitious but there are serious constraints on what they can do.

Wages will be the issue. I suspect we have very little wriggle room...

Up to a point.

Cash injections rather than loans can be used to increase turnover and thus wages allowed. Would be a statement though to inject money rather than loan it (which wouldn't increase turnover for wages).

I’m not so sure it’s the first real test.

They’ve ticked a lot of boxes to date, even to the minimal things like ground reno, reinstating the community trust, up to the larger things like building an incredibly talented squad for League 1, sacking Paul Cook & appointing McKenna on a long term deal.

The Walton deal may be done, but Brighton playing games with us won’t change our approach, we want him, but only if the deal is right and works for us.

Have to remember the FFP rules.

..and the big factor being the awful league position PC left us in, meaning the players have to consider the risk of still being in L1 next season.

Hadn’t thought of this.

Maybe Ashton does know what he’s doing.

Very smart move if this is the case, bet they were annoyed the Lincoln game got P-Ped. Would make sense as to why the teamcard points are only valid until 31st Jan.

But the FFP rules can be circumvented by the owners putting in equity can't they? I think that is the significant difference between League One and the Championship, so our new seemingly keen to invest owners should not mind too much about that. Especially at the levels we're talking about.
