See the NFL are whoring themselves again, this time to Germany 13:23 - Feb 10 with 2661 viewsIllinoisblue

Munich, Spurs, Twickenham and the Azteca in Mexico now all hosting NFL games. Surely won’t be long before the Premier League tries again to do the same. Please riot and don’t let it happen.

Imagine only having 8-10 'home' matches a season and then being told one of them is the other side of the world !

Telling that the NFL won’t move a home game of the bigger well supported clubs(ie Packers) so it’s always teams like Jacksonville that lose a home game. And the fans here are so used to the idea of sports teams being a franchise and a thing to be marketed, they don’t make a lot of fuss.

It works for NFL because amongst the 32 teams they now play 17 games a season, this leaves room for 8 at home, 8 away and 1 abroad so I wouldn't be surprised if it increased until every team has 1 game abroad each season. I'm biased but looking forward to watching an NFL game in the UK and tempted to even try and go over to Munich.

Doesn't work for us as the league is built around every team playing each other home and away.

I've never studied it but I had assumed all 32 NFL teams have had a least one London home game since they stated doing it.
Seems very unfair if that is not the case.

I don’t care for the NFL, but I wish they’d bring back the NBA London games.

It's Wembley instead of Twickenham, think that was only a one time thing.

It seems, from the media at least, that there is quite a big interest in NFL over here. Can't understand why, myself. Boring sport and there can't be enough people over here that have a vested interest in a team to make it worthwhile?

It's all voluntary, isn't it?

Jacksonville-London is probably less inconvenient then Jacksonville-Seattle, so I guess they don't mind so much. They are also guaranteed publicity, a full house and some TV cash, so I guess it makes sense to them.

There is a huge fanbase, the games continue to sell out year on year and the global growth has meant that the money being made by NFL teams has gone through the roof. Clearly it’s worthwhile, that’s why they’re still bringing games over to the UK and now Europe 15 years down the line

I had a quick look on Wikipedia and quite a few teams haven’t had a designated home game. They include Washington, Cowboys, Bears, Patriots, Broncos, Packers, Giants, Lions, Panthers, Chargers, Jets, Eagles. These teams have been, but as the away team.

I’ve no idea how it’s decided, but I’m sure there must be good financial advantage in giving up a home game.

The Raiders were based in Oakland, moved to LA, back to Oakland and are now in Las Vegas. The San Diego Chargers nave moved to LA. The Baltimore Colts moved to Indianapolis and Baltimore now have the Ravens. St Louis once had the Cardinals who are now based in Arizona.

I never quite get this franchise moving milarky

I enjoy it, Plenty of people at my local Rugby club play for the Cardinals, think you'll find there is far more interest nationally in NFL than you think
