I thought he was absolutely fantastic, I’m not sure I recall him even having to challenge for a header, with (from memory) every ball being brought down and played out.
He’s come on leaps and bounds of late

We’ll be good again... one day

Him, Donacien.

Building from the back and using some of what we already had in stock by working with them in training instead of just giving up and buying replacements all the time.

Edmundson too was back to his best

Let's be honest we finally may have the best 4 we've had since the prime berra chambers days. Add in the best keeper and probably better than Bart imo.

Woolf always had the ability, I'm not too sure why Cook was so keen to bin him off.

KM seems to be our first manager since Mick who wants to work with and improve the players he has got - see also bringing Jackson back in.

Cook didn't seem to know how to train individuals did he.

He had a vision of how he wanted the side to look and expected the players to slot into that.

Instead of working with them and shaping them, his plan seemed to be to just buy what was required and hope for the best.

We all have to understand that all players can make the odd mistake, sometimes you get punished, especially playing at the back, so we mustn't cast him aside if it happens again, which people quickly do..

Got to give Mcgreal and Dyer some credit. The rehabilitation of Woolf and the move to a back three was started by them wasn't it?

I think he's been our best defender under McKenna. Really pleased he is doing well.

Actually, it was my idea. Just got to get them to try Edwards at LWB, and Kylie Minogue as my personal seat warmer now, and we'll be optimal.

Outstanding again. A proper footballer and I’m so glad he wasn’t binned with the others in the Summer as it was obvious he’d stand out in a team that played football the right way.

He signed Burgess to win headers at Cheltenham - worked well!!

Yep it was the most obvious formation for the defenders we had, it was never gonna happen under PC obviously but it was really obvious for all to see. Glad they did it first.

Absolutely. Although McK certainly has attributes that McG does not have, we seemed to be so lacking in the defensive coaching/strategy department under Cook. I don't understand how a club of our size with our budget can get by without a defensive coach. McG saw what PC did not, (but many of us did), that it was at least worth trying three at the back given the personnel we had.

So yes, credit to McGreal (and I'm assuming Dyer too - maybe not, but I'm always happy to give him credit!). Credit also to the Wolf, for having the patience to bide his time when he had been all but frozen out at League One level, which must have been frustrating. I thought Wolf was the pick of our defenders at MK.

Wolfy was getting pelters off a few ‘fans’ away at Cheltenham earlier this season. Horrific stick. So pleased he’s playing as well as he is now.

I suppose he’s spent the last 13 years being a coach and doing exactly that, whilst clearly learning the ‘softer’ skills of man-management within a squad. He’s always had to work with the squad he has been given without the option of just going out to get replacements. His main remit was always to make players better.

I get the impression that he’s not likely to spend his own time phoning around players he knows, as Ashton would see that as his role. Having said that, I have been impressed with McKenna’s knowledge of players at our level, as it was one of the main concerns I had when he was appointed, so I expect there is a lot of collaboration there.

We’ve had nine games under McKenna now, with the back four starting all of them bar Wycombe (Walton COVID) if I recall correctly.

In those 9 games, we’ve only conceded 4 goals, AND STILL none of the four have been scored by the oppositions recognised striker. Full credit has to go to the defence for the turnaround, but most importantly Woolfy who is usually tasked with dealing with them each game. You think about the kind of players he’s been dealing with in L1 - Sam Vokes, Vadaine Oliver, Josh Windass, Colby Bishop, Troy Parrott - some of them have barely had a sniff, and they are really good ST’s for this level.

Really happy that one of our own has been performing this well. Here’s hoping Edmundson works on his left foot in training for the rest of the season, because he has the potential to be one of the best right footed LCB’s outside of the Prem

Yes i think Walton is a better all round keeper than Bart , they are pretty similar as far as shot stopping but Walton better at the rest .

He's been superb since McKenna came in, Cook would have had him out in the summer if he could and Ashton said at the AGM a couple of weeks back that he was a player we'd have looked to sell in January but McKenna has got him going again.

Ashton has a reputation for selling players on at a profit, and it seems to me that Wolf has the greatest potential of all our players to play at a much higher level and to be sold in a year or so's time at a sizeable profit, assuming of course he carries on with his development.

No issue with is doing that if we're reinvesting into genuine potential as opposed to looking for cast offs to plug the gap.

Was relatively close to a move just before covid. Sheff Utd and others wanted him.

I agree re:coaching, the difference is there to see already and if we can get more crosses / shots then we will be a force

I am hoping they can get Edwards to improve his end product because he has the ability to beat a player for sure
