Coaching on 17:15 - Feb 12 with 3244 views | Skip_Intro | Agree - really like the fact that Kmac constantly looks to tweak the setup depending what is happening on the pitch...very refreshing...
Coaching on 17:46 - Feb 12 with 3076 views | Bobsthename | I’m thinking and many others that Cook if he surrounded himself with decent coaching staff he would of made more of a fist of it but he never and unfortunately it cost him his job he’ll learn i’m sure going forward.
Coaching on 18:10 - Feb 12 with 2988 views | Arthur_Hayes | Agreed. McKenna has shown his technical nous in every game he’s been in charge, Cook, in contrast, was so one dimensional. Another pleasing aspect is the back 4 - they look so well organized, and even if we do concede a goal, we’re not going to go to pieces like we often did under Cook. The play-offs may be a bridge too far this season, but I feel very confident of the long term with McKenna in charge.

I think Cook's complete tactical inflexibilty and unhappiness with the structure that the new owners built around him cost him his job tbh...am sure he will do a good job at Chesterfield. I like the guy and wish him well but wouldn't swap him for Kmac...

Indeed, you only have to see how MK had the first 10 minutes, but very little sustained pressure after that. 100% we lose that under Cook.

He has properly sorted us defensively which is brilliant and what we desperately needed if we are going to get out of this league, we do however need a bit more going forward, not helped by all our strikers losing form and I would argue Ceilina not exactly firing on all cylinders, considering how good he is.

Controversial statement to follow, but I just don't rate Celina. He's a show pony in a team that work hard, be disciplined and get organised. Chaplin offers so much more. I'd even argue if you want to really persist in having two "10s" on the park, Aluko is a better shout.
Coaching on 21:42 - Feb 12 with 2325 views | Kieran_Knows | I know for a fact that the players were bored of Cooks training methods towards the end of his time here. Very repetitive, doing the same stuff even though the results weren’t going the way we wanted. McKenna has come in and completely changed all that, individually and as a team. Much more in depth coaching. That said, I don’t like the Cook bashing personally. A good manager who I know a lot of people at the club had a lot of time for him. A very likeable chap and genuinely wish him all the best at Chesterfield.

I wonder if people actually watch games or just have pre-conceived opinions. Celina worked his nuts off today. And on top of that created our two best chances. A good job you have no input in selecting our side.

You’d see how good Celina really is if we had in form or better quality strikers in front of him. Ones that make good runs behind defenders and into space. You saw him turn really well on a few occasions today and he had nothing in front of him. That’s not on Celina, he needs better runs in front of him and I think KM knows that by picking KJ. This needs to be a prime target for next season and expect that to be the case.

Wrong today imo celina was very credible. Chaplin however for me let us down a fair bit today. Aluko. Celina for me next game.

Think we also need to give Mcgreal a bit of credit who went to the back 3 of Janoi, wolf and Edmondson as McKenna watched v Sunderland

They went gung-ho that day as they had nothing to lose (not taking anything away from McGreal or Dyer), that was genuinely the tactic. [Post edited 13 Feb 2022 10:14]
