Biden on 20:35 - Feb 24 with 1344 views | Swansea_Blue | He’s a very naughty boy, that’s why. We seem impotent don’t we? NATO/Western leaders are obviously all crapping themselves and reluctant to be the first to commit to anything vaguely aggressive. Presumably nukes has a lot to do with it. As an aside, that makes a mockery of those who say NATO expansionism is the cause (but then so do many other things about this crisis, so such people are best ignored). What’s China’s take on all this as well? Does that come into the thinking? I’ve no idea and haven’t seen them mentioned once.

China are probably thinking that its an ideal time to take Taiwan which is the ccp end game. Countries such as Germany and Italy are highly dependent on Russian energy imports and darent do anything too aggressive. China also know that they have a willing partner in Russia. Ultimately, the risk is pushing Russia closer to China..

Agreed, he’s not mad like the Trumpmeister thank goodness. God knows what he’d have done - shudder. But as the most important leader in the free world, my opinion is Biden is disappointing, weak and not ‘on it’. I tend to compare him with Obama, Bush senior and Clinton and I just don’t see it. He’s not alone. The world is not exactly crammed with statesmen, and don’t start me on BJ. Just a view. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Fair play to Putin, he's inspired out some highly imaginative 'yes but Labour' posting this past 24 hours. [Post edited 25 Feb 2022 0:05]

Baffled how you could have arrived at this view of Biden tbh, and your previous one above also seemed no more than feeble stereotyping uncharacteristic for you. I thought it was a good speech, even if he didn't pen it himself. [Post edited 25 Feb 2022 1:11]

The problem is Putin is taking advantage of Biden’s weakness. If Trump was in the White House I doubt Putin would have invaded Ukraine as the orange one is as deranged as he is, and Putin wouldn’t be sure if America’s response would be to launch a nuclear missile at Moscow. MAD is only useful of both sides feel the other may go that far.

I don't see Biden as weak, and never mind Putin fearing Trump, all sane people feared Trump! Having two madmen at the helm of their respective super-powers isn't exactly preferable as a receipe for security, safety & stability!

Trump is literally praising Putin FOR invading the Ukraine right now. The far-right governments both here and in the US are, in part WHY, Putin is sitting in the Ukraine, right now. They've been cosying up to him and having their tummies ticked by him for that past 5 years at least(in Trump's case) and even longer(in the case of the Tories over here) to the point that they've been ignoring his imperialist activities at best and actively encouraging them at worst. This isn't even an original 'yes but Labour' any more. [Post edited 25 Feb 2022 1:33]

Trump was praising Putin for his strategy, not necessarily invading Ukraine itself. Though Trump is all about Trump so guess he would have seen the invasion through the prism of his standing in the world.

The far right(Trump and mainstream political figures over here included)who've been w@nking themselves DRY over Putin being a 'strongman' for most of the last decade are all falling over themselves to tell us that they one he was a wrong 'un all along and they were just praising him and taking his money to keep him occupied(Farage and Bank in particular have been been embarrassing). Blaming the people brought in to clean up the mess created by the far right over the past decade is tragic, mate. [Post edited 25 Feb 2022 1:47]
