Yep, gone in the summer for sure. We've moved on a bit this season and he is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the pecking order.

Something like 11 games for Colchester? (I don't know how many of those were starts) Certainly would've expected him to have featured more than that.

Not sure from who? He is 21, not 18. No future here, best he goes.

No, it hasn't increased the dislike. I think most U's fans rate the ex-Town players, - with the exception perhaps of Tommy Smith. (Nobody can figure how he can play ahead of Tom Eastman.) Judge perhaps has been disappointing because he's played so little, but if you've seen the goal on saturday you'd see why U's fans can't fault him for effort. It's been a miserable couple of seasons, but as I've said before, most of the disgruntlement has been directed at the chairman for (a) his ultra-cautious Covid response (whereby he stated he's not bothered if crowds are very very low, because it's safer that way) , and (b) because he never pushes the boat out to attract a 'proper' manager. But he did have a PR hit with the game for Ukraine on Sky, and it may have reminded him how much more enjoyable it is with some fans in the ground. And hopefully he'll address point (b) as soon as it's clear that Colchester are still a league team next season. [Post edited 28 Mar 2022 17:19]

Tommy Smith’s decline is surprising - he was more than a decent Championship centre back earlier in his career. Age may have caught up with him but he is only 31. The lack of experienced manager does seem very odd; almost like Cowling is hoping to strike lucky, like he did to a degree with McGreal.

Some people feel that ultimately John McGreal under-achieved, and that with the talent he had at his disposal he should have been able to get promotion. (I tend to blame Gerken for his howler in the play-off semi against Exeter!) I do have some sympathy with younger fans who would like a manager who speaks up a bit more. All recent managers have seemed so self-effacing. It's almost the opposite of Ipswich, where fans are happy now to have a manager who is less of a 'gob-shi*te'. But of course, we're grateful when he doesn't appoint a Sheridan or a Steve Evans.

abracaVINCENT-YOUNG trips of the tongue, not. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's moved on. He can be an exciting player, but doesn't seem to be pushing on. A shame if that happens, although it's not an unusual outcome. On the flip side, he's still got time as some players don't find their feet until 22/23/24. And if anyone can get the best out of him, you'd expect McK can.

I've been wondering if Vincent-Young might move on. I think he has a contract for one more year (like Dobra.)

Yeah, he seems very much a fringe player now doesn't he. I thought he looked good in his rare appearances from the bench under McK. Looks a good backup and a good alternative on the left if we can't get Thompson back next year.

Didn't Tommy's back go, that brought with it hamstring problems and so he's slowed a lot and had to adjust?

Dobra.. on 19:32 - Mar 28 with 1025 views | clive_baker | Probably one of the least rounded footballers we had last season to be fair. Like a bit of a rough diamond, street footballer, type. A box of tricks and his unpredictability was in itself exciting, but next to no awareness. Wasn't in any way street wise enough to be someone you would throw a starting shirt at each week and know what you're going to get, that was always his issue. I felt he should've gone out when he turned down that loan move, staying here on the fringes was pointless. He could have 70+ senior starts under his belt by now. It's a shame, but he still needs that, go out to the Conference next season, play 40 games and tear it up.

Given we've got Edwards too is there any room for McKenna to coach him into something we can utilise either?

Starting to look like we should've taken the money from Brighton when we had the chance. I like Edwards a lot, no end product but puts a shift in and really isn't afraid to do the defensive side of things. If he could find a man in the final 3rd he could be dangerous.
