So just to clarify 19:56 - Jul 7 with 1118 views | GlasgowBlue | Boris Johnson has resigned but he's still Prime Minister and continues to be so for some time? Most of the ministers who resigned in order to force Johnson out, have been appointed? That's about right isn't it?

So just to clarify on 20:14 - Jul 7 with 988 views | Keno | you dint have a constitution as such but the protocol seems to be that although has resigned and isnt the leader of the tory party he is still de facto prime minister until a new leader of the tory party is confirmed at which stage that person will become prime minister. At that time Boris will tell the Queen is he resigning she will invite hss replacement to form a government. Oddly apparently what Boris is doing isnt 'wrong' per se but I do wish the Tories will hurry the feck up. We will know it will be Priti Patel lso lets brace ourselves

It is not impossible that he will launch an argument, in 2 months' time, that he is doing a great job and should stay. Would be absolutely true to form.

So just to clarify on 22:47 - Jul 7 with 653 views | ArnoldMoorhen | Dominic Cummimgs' tweets today state clearly that Johnson must be completely removed or he will think there is a way back. There is a way back. I think I can see what his plan is. Had he lost the Confidence Vote he would not have been able to stand in a subsequent leadership contest. But he hasn't lost a Confidence Vote. He has merely resigned of his own volition. There is no bar to him putting himself on the ballot for leadership and going to his natural constituency, the Tory rank and file. The bar to that would be that he would need to come in the top two of the MPs Vote to make the shortlist that goes to members. But I have been hearing people on phone ins today saying "They need to change the rules and let the members decide from all the canddiates, make it a proper Primary." If that happens Johnson has his route back. It doesn't mean that he would win, but if he believes he might win, he may well try.
