The most annoying thing about the whole Austin affair wasn't the fact we missed out on a very good player, but that I had def info at the time through a contact no longer at the club. I used to get so much juice, including re. the Austin deal. He was in the building, had been shown around PR and the training ground and it was quite literally a done deal. We let him slip off for the evening for dinner on the promise of him returning the next day. His agent call that night, they jumped in the car and shot up to Burnley and he signed for them. 48 hours after leaving PR with a deal all but done he was sat in the stand at Turf Moor watching them in an FA cup match IIRC. |  |
