Really feel for Bonne, there’s surely not one player that wants to play for Ipswich more than him. Seemed so perfect when he came here and started banging in goals for fun. Best of luck to moving him forward. Hope he can get some football somewhere.

Agree with that. I think he’s a good player and would have been happy for him to come back here. It’s not long to January and I hope he gets a good club sorted out then.

Is there some relevance in a Fulham fan telling us what Charlton aren't doing?

Horrible year for him; he and his girlfriend suffer the pain of miscarriages and then his career goes off the rails when he looked set to become a hero at his hometown club.

Bring him home on loan in January.

This imo is the very reason why his form dropped off, from reading some comments (mostly in the news posts and not on the forum to be fair) people are completely ignorant to the fact and don't even try to understand, imagine the pain and heartache they both went/are still going through.....it never leaves your mind if losing a parent is a fair comparison and yet MB never ever failed to give his 110% for us when putting on the shirt, the shirt he wore with so much pride, the pride we all feel from our colours!!

As I've said before I'd love him back here so will look to January with a hopeful heart and head as I know that when MB clicks there is a really good striker in there and a 20+ a season one to boot in league 1.

He must still be on half decent money at qpr

Totally agree. How he must be feeling now, when he knows he's not wanted at QPR, compared to this time last year when he was banging in the goals doesn't bear thinking about. I really hope it works out for him on all fronts, but sadly I don't think his future lies here.

Must be quite a hit to his confidence not to be wanted by his hometown club that he loves so much. I feel for him.

I feel for Bonne, and his personal situation. But that’s not a reason to bring him back to the club, if we wanted him we would have signed him this window.
We have chosen instead to sign a rather unproven young striker from Burton instead, which probably shows how rated he is by McKenna, I personally think it’s the right decision and I wouldn’t have him back.

I feel really sorry for him. I wasnt keen on him coming back, but going from a local hero, living his dream, to this, must be horrible. I hope he's doing ok.

Echo what everyone has said here re wishing him the best and goodness only knows what he and his partner went through last year.

I would say though, he has brought some of hiscurrent situation on himself with a very ill judged and unauthorised interview with Stuart Watson. Burnt his bridges at QPR having had a reasonable pre season and then tried to throw Watson under the bus by saying he'd been misquoted - which I don't think is cool.

Clearly a great guy who loves the club and wears his heart on his sleeve but think he would have been better saying nothing on this ocassion.

He can't. The window is shut and he's marooned at QPR until January. If he doesn't get in their named squad, he can't even play for them (out of the League Cup, so no games there, either).

Unless they added a forward yesterday (?) then I suspect he isn't that far off first team involvement. They've only got 5 forwards including him, Dykes, Tyler Roberts, Chris Willock (more of a 10), Sinclair Armstrong (19, 3 EFL appearances total) and Macca.

Tho if they were contemplating sending him out on loan to Charlton yesterday, suggests he is down the pecking order*. Champ squad limit of 25 has to include goalkeepers, so not really any more generous than L1/L2.

* Unless the reason the loan fell through was because they didn't get a forward they were chasing.

From the news coming out of Charlton the loan fell through because QPR changed their minds and wanted it to be a permanent move but Charlton/QPR couldn't agree the fee

Sure, but injuries happen and pecking orders aren't set in stone.

Specifically with the kid Armstrong, you might push him ahead of Bonne because you want Bonne off the wage bill to bring someone else in, rather than because you think he's actually better.

Reading their main forum, the vast majority of Charlton fans are celebrating not signing him. Or doing the “I’d rather sign no-one than him” type rhetoric. Is there a player whose reputation was so blemished in half a season? I’d have thought Charlton fans would have killed to sign him last November/December

All a lot yes, but, he had his chance here, he just didn't perform after Xmas. Life has to go on for lots of people. But he just didn't recover. Needed to up his game and he didn't.

I'd be stupid to even try to disagree with he didn't perform in the second half of the season!!

Yes life has to go on for lots of people, but each one of those people can not deal with what life has thrown at them in the same way or time frame as there are no set rules on coping with a misfortune that should befall any individual or how long it takes said individual to get over it, the mind is such a funny thing.

If QPR don't want him, there does seem to be one perfect fit for him until January. Wrexham. No transfer window and they would likely be prepared to pay a significant chunk of his wages as a ringer to get them up.

Not sure if FFP covers National League but even if it does, must be tempting.

He’s never left Ipswich during his whole career and has zero intention of doing so. Found it funny him being linked with the likes of Bolton, Shrewsbury and Oxford.
