There is an issue here, like with our parliament, where lots is done on unwritten agreements to do the right thing that if there is a deliberately bad actor then nothing really happens to them.
Ofcom not setup to deal with these sort of channels

Given what Sue Ellen has just said in the Commons, I can't see any desire on the part of the Government to do anything about stations like GB News.
In her statement to MPs Suella Braverman criticised Prevent for being too focused on right-wing extremism. She said:
"While obscuring the Islamist threat, Prevent has defined the extreme right-wing too broadly, encompassing the respectable right and the centre-right.
The threat from the extreme rightwing must not be minimised. It is serious and it is growing. It must be robustly addressed.
But it is not the same, either in nature or scale, as the threat from Islamism."
No doubt she would regard GB News as the respectable right.

The following, from the Grauniad, is Amnesty International's take on the Shawcross review but perhaps not surprising since Shawcross has moved further and further to the right as he has aged, and supported Brexit. Just the sort of man to come up with a flawed review on Prevent which suits the views of Sue Ellen.
Amnesty International UK has strongly criticised the conclusions of the Shawcross review into the Prevent programme. Ilyas Nagdee, Amnesty’s racial justice director, said:
"This review is riddled with biased thinking, errors, and plain anti-Muslim prejudice — frankly, the review has no legitimacy.
There’s mounting evidence that Prevent has specifically targeted Muslim communities and activists fighting for social justice and a host of crucial international issues — including topics like the climate crisis and the oppression of Palestinians.
There is growing evidence that Prevent is having disastrous consequences for many people; eroding freedom of expression, clamping down on activism, creating a compliant generation and impacting on individual rights enshrined in law.
A proper independent review of Prevent should have looked at the host of human rights violations that the programme has led to — but these have largely been passed over in silence."

Have just watched a video on Twitter of Oliver banging on about an unsafe vaccine, the scientist effectively told him he was talking shoite.
Oliver said 1/800 were dying because of the vaccine, to which I thought, that means 799/800 survived... Really must look up some other ratios... Allergies, heart attacks Etc to see how they stack up.

The odd thing about Oliver is that he presented a programme about Scottish history 10-15 years which finished by mentioning the shame of Scottish involvement in the slave trade.
All very woke, and certainly not something he would do these days.

Here's more evidence, relating to Prevent, of the rightward drift of the country

HAe states that it is time for King Arthur to return, along with Robin Hood, Merlin the Wizard and the jolly green giant no doubt
Someone who did not exist, will now exist because some jock strap (well, he is a nutcase) is coining it in by telling the simple minded and the paranoid 'wokey cokeys' his childlike fantasies
And yet kGB news sees nothing wrong with having this liar/loony spouting off on their channel, under the guise of 'news'

Yes, he used to be very good, but certainly since Covid, if not before, he has become completely deranged.

Until I read this thread, I hadn't equated the raving loon I see on clips of GBeebies with the guy who presented Coast. Good grief - he needs help. He's been radicalised in full view.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
