Lord Anderson of Ipswich 20:47 - Mar 1 with 2221 views | DJR | Being a dull person I was looking at the debate on the National Security Bill on BBC Parliament, and came across someone called Lord Anderson of Ipswich. From his Wikipedia entry, he was formerly David Anderson, the Independent Reviewer of Terrorism, who I had heard of. He is a native of Edinburgh, and from his Wiki entry there is no explanation of why the chose Ipswich to be included in his title. Does anyone know why? [Post edited 1 Mar 2023 20:50]

I'm fairly sure they get some input, there are some very specific places given to people with some obvious ties.

Lord Anderson of Ipswich on 21:49 - Mar 1 with 2022 views | Guthrum | Possibly lives or lived in the area. As far as I'm aware, that's mostly the origin of the geographical tag in the title of Life Peers, that or somewhere they want to be associated with. The fact the supporters in his coat of arms are a pair of oystercatchers suggest he's at least got some connection to the Orwell. http://officeofthelordlyon.blogspot.com/2023/01/lord-anderson-of-ipswich-kcb-kc. Perhaps he just liked Pin Mill?

In fact he was questioned about his internet presence, including TWTD, when security vetted said he mainly contributed about midfield formations, rather than anything too scurrilous... | | | | Login to get fewer ads

he alas gave up his profile (and season ticket) but mainly because we got a bit cr*p at that point, rather than any concern over any TWTD radical wing

Was he more in favour of traditional wingers then? Or are we not talking about Midfielders anymore?
