- Ipswich had no mathematical chance of getting into to the play-offs
- Ipswich had no mathematical chance of being relegated
- Norwich were second or third with two games left
- We were playing their promotion rival (the other team in second or third)
- Losing would likely be the difference between Norwich going up or not

Would you want to lpswich to lose?

Asking on behalf of a mate (the whole if Exeter).

Considering our home form, I doubt Exeter are going to have very much choice in the matter!

I would imagine they will would be far more bothered about taking some points off Plymouth than laying down for us. I don't think pro teams would just roll over.

Truly impaired.

I mean you as a fan. It would make me pretty grumpy if an Ipswich draw two games from the end of the season in a dead rubber meant Norwich went up automatically.

But I realise many may simply not care what the impact is on Norwich and would always want a Town win

Not sure I could want us to lose but I never really care what the results are of meaningless games.

Yeah, I'd be happy for us to concede an early goal and just twiddle our thumbs for the best part of 90 minutes. Integrity be damned.

So, more simply put, are you asking if Exeter should try to lose the game against us on the off-chance it helps us nick second from Muff? Answer: it doesn’t really matter as we will beat them whether they try or not, they just need to try extra hard to beat Muff themselves which would be far more satisfying for them.

Regardless of what we as fans think I don't think any team would lie down in any game - the players are not supporters.

Remember Liverpool beating Blackburn when it could well have handed the title to Man Utd?

No, I'm not. I'm asking what you as a fan would want. Would you want Town to win and Norwich get promoted, or lose and Norwich go in the play-offs. A why would also be intersting.

- Not what the players will do
- Not what the players should do.
- Not what we should focus on.
- Not whether it matter what Exeter try to do
- Not what we think Exeter would do
- Not wht Exter should do

Exeter is just the example that caused the thought.

EDIT: Not sure it needed to be framed more simply than - "Would you want to lpswich to lose?"

This exact thought popped into my head earlier. And yes, if it made absolutely no difference to our season I wouldn't mind us losing.
