I want us to win the league now.

Been saying all season I don’t care just give me second place but now we’re nearly there and the gap is minute let’s bloody go and get it!

Not going to see us win a league title very often* and it might just be league 1 but it is a league title at the end of the day!

Agreed. We're the best team in the league, let's go and get the trophy that proves it.

I don't care - just want to go up and avoid play offs. Get out of this awful league! I've had enough now!

Plus Championship grounds do on the whole have better pubs available near them.

I can't shake the feeling that we are still going to finish 3rd. It's the years of failure that weigh too heavily in my head. Plus our run in.

But we are the best team in the league right now.

ITFC hasn't won a unified third tier trophy yet, so it would be a new one for the cabinet.

We've just destroyed two of the better teams, in their own back yards. We should now fear no team.

It’s guys like you and the other <30 Town supporters who have followed the Town through thick and thin during this eternal sh*tshow we’ve had to endure that I feel really pleased for. Enjoy every moment of this and don’t let anyone detract from it by saying it’s only League 1.

This is such a good team that even if the worst happens and we don’t make it up, next year we will. You see it at other clubs in the past when you just know a club is on the rise.

After so many false dawns it’s happening. This is the start of something very special and it’s time to buckle up and enjoy the ride.

I know. A few weeks ago Id written us off for top two.

It's frustrating that the points total for top 2 is going to be historically high. I think we would already be a top half championship team.

But I almost can't let myself believe we will do it.

Although we've comfortably handled two of the tough games from our tough run in already. Barnsley and Peterborough are still tough fixtures but Peterborough are so hit and miss we could go there and give them a proper spanking. Barnsley is the big fixture but by the time that rolls around, who knows what the table might look like? If the top 2 continue wobbling and we carry on winning, that becomes a game we might not need to win. Really think 6 points over the Easter weekend would be huge and would likely see us in the top 2.

Well I hope you're right. There seems a strange belief about us right now. Something that has been shaken out of our DNA over the years.

I think we deserve it. How many managers recently have been saying we are the best side in the league?

I know other fans say the same thing but we've gone a long time with no success and the fan base deserves it now. Some pay back.

I certainly am.

Saturday was a wonderful display and fan/club connection in a good quality game, with good opposition and a huge crowd. If we do get promoted we won’t have many better days in the Championship.

I see a few still putting in the negative comments, alluding to abject failure if we don’t get promotion, desperation to get out of this terrible league. Hard to disagree. But as you state this is a team, manager and club on the up. If Plymouth and Sheff Weds hold it together and get the top two, they’ll have got circa 95 points. And Town will have put on enough points to have gained promotion in any other season. It will have been a remarkable season, and we will have the excitement of the play-offs and whatever they bring.

I’m convinced that if we still fail to make it, we’ll come back even stronger.

Just enjoy these brilliant performances, progression on/off the field and the amazing crowds.

We’re about to SELL OUT all remaining home fixtures, for the likes of Exeter and Port Vale, which is remarkable. The fans have reacted to the football and team on display. Long May it continue.

The Barnsley postponement may still be good as we could have lost momentum - even with a draw.

Its better to be here though and anxious (well I am) than mdi table and not even making the play offs.

I disagree. Having found ourselves where we are, winning is the best way of getting out of it. After all, it would not be* pretty much the only (or the most prestigious) trophy in our cabinet.

Moreover, this time in League One could be the genesis of Town's future success (Gamechanger, McKenna, the current squad, losing the debt, the change of atmosphere). Just not in the way a few were advocating prior to relegation - more catharsis and rebirth than "bounce-back". I don't see why we cannot look back fondly upon how the club journeyed out of a pretty dire situation.

People have been talking about our run in for a while, I think the 4 games that many picked out as the most daunting were trips to Bolton, Derby, Barnsley and Peterborough. We've played 2 of those now and delivered 2 excellent performances, 2 clean sheets, 4 very good goals and 6 points. That's not to say the remaining games aren't going to be difficult, and there will be points dropped I'm sure, but we're quite capable of picking up more points than at least 1 of the 2 sides above us.

I'm not too fussed about that, I just want to be in the top 2.

The playoffs will be a lottery, we know that all too well from the Burley days. Although I would back us on paper and don't think any of the other teams would want to play us, you never know what will happen, anyone in the top 6 is capable on their day of delivering a good performance. At least 1 of Sheff Weds, Plymouth, Barnsley and us will be playing in L1 next season, potentially 2. We just need to get into the top 2 and stay there, I couldn't care if it's 1st or 2nd.

Run ins at this stage don't mean a lot. It's the same every season and we've already seen it with Sheff Wed. You get teams scrapping for points at the bottom, teams already on the beach, teams with nothing to lose who can just go out and play, teams feeling the pressure to get points.

Us and Barnsley are bang in form and it really wouldn't surprise me to see both teams in the top 2 come the end.

I thought we'd go WDL (in no particular order) against Bolton, Barnsley and Derby when we were going to have them almost back-to-back. Happy to admit I've been very pleasantly surprised how comfortably we've despatched of two of them so far. Barnsley clearly the most difficult fixture left and will be a step up from the previous two aways but we should still back ourselves to get a decent result there. You never know which version of Peterborough will turn up but they're around the same level as Derby and Bolton so again we should feel confident of a point at the very least there.

Think I've said this to you on here before but I'd back us to get more points over the next four than Plymouth, especially when we have a home double-header of Charlton and Port Vale while they're at Exeter and Shrewsbury. Given their recent form you could say we could well get more than Wednesday as well, particularly if they're still without Windass and Byers who in terms of influence on the team (if not like-for-like style-wise) is the equivalent of us being without Chaplin and Morsy.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Yeah I agree, I think too much is made of it tbh. Take a side like Lincoln, they've avoided defeat in nearly 3/4 of their games this season. They've drawn home and away to Sheffield Wednesday, took 4 points off us, took 4 points off Derby, drew home to Plymouth, beat Barnsley away, drew at Pompey. They're no mugs and that was never a banker for Sheff Wed on Saturday, nor is it for Plymouth coming up.

Plymouth also have a local derby away to Exeter and then Shrewsbury away 3 days apart, they're tough games. I think their final 4 games are more favourable, less travel and 3 at Home Park where they've been formidable, again Bristol Rovers aren't a bad side and will enjoy going to Plymouth to frustrate them and with the pressure off.

The eternal pessimist in me was very worried at derby when the 4th official held up 7 added minutes.
Despite us being two goals up, I still expected Derby to score two quick goals for a draw.

I guess that the shock of Charlton will take a long, long time to be forgotten.

It's been so long since we have really had something to celebrate, please, please can it be now?
