Assuming a red card is a 3-match ban, I make it 4 players they will have suspended for Tuesday. Let's hope their replacements don't play the game of their lives.

Funsi Ojo straight red 3 matches ago v Accrington (i.e. served 2 of his ban)
Dennis Politic came on as a sub v Oxford and received a straight red (i.e. served 1 match)
Tom Conlon straight red last match v Lincoln and Sam Robinson came on and got 2 bookings for a red (neither started their bans yet).

Interestingly, they hadn't had a red card up until those. The other point to note is they still got a 0-0 with 10 men v Oxford and only just lost to Lincoln 2-3 with 9 men.

Had Edwards in the Mickey Mouse cup but none that involved the league or proper cups.

Was thinking about the league but that must be the only one this season and probably one of the most ridiculous in the club's history.

Can I feel some complacency coming on amongst us ?

Port Vale losing x4 players … we’re at home again , on the back of a thumping victory …. Playing Port Vale with nothing to play for. I mean to say, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG???

Vale do have something to play for, they're in danger of getting sucked into the relegation battle.

Thank God good for that then, Phil.

Tbh I’m not sure when it’s safe to think we’ve “ made it”. But I’d hate this to blow up in our faces so close to that finish line , and as someone head has said , hopefully the players won’t be getting carried away with things. We fans have to try and keep a lid on it a bit longer I think.

Honestly, if we cant make 3-4 changes and still convincingly beat Vale, our confidence must be really low.

We have to be at full strength for Peterborough and Barnsley. Surely we can rest some of our top players, and put Leigh, Jackson, Edwards, Ladapo into the starting line up against Vale and still cruise to 3 points. By all means have Broady, Hirst, Davis and Burns on the bench. But we keep saying we have a fantastic squad, and then getting all anxious about using it. These players are great players at this level. We can do this, and then be at full strength for the two crucial games after.

For me, it’s all about maintaining momentum and rhythm in the side. Too many changes , I feel would upset that. And we can’t afford to drop any points. It’s a lot harder bringing in your better players from the bench to get things going if we come out of the blocks slow with a side that has had several changes done to it. I’d much rather we go with our strongest team from the start. Come out if the blocks like we did Sat , get a hold of the game and then if certain players need a leg breather take them off on 50-60mins.

Good job McKenna’s got those decisions to make eh, lol !

I’d keep a settled side as far as possible from now on.

Keep to a settled side. Get the game in the bag first, them bring on the subs, all 5 if necessary to save bodies for Peterboro, Barnsley.

They would be overjoyed with a point, would. Imagine they will defend with their lives which we have previously found trick ala Cheltenham, Fleetwood, Lincoln.

The only Muff in Town.

I've just read a thread where you were mentioning us outdoing Norwich and participating in the Champions League. So, yes, I can feel some complacency amongst us.

But Lincoln only had 10 men from the 20 odd minute mark when their goalie was sent off and port vales last player was sent off in the 80th minute so not quite as impressive as you made it sound.

Absolutely not.

We have 5 cup finals left.

Full strength every game. Keep momentum going.

I certainly wasn't suggesting complacency. I pointed out the potential for those coming in to play the game of their lives and the fact they still appeared difficult to beat even with 10 and 9 men in their last two fixtures.

I am quite sure McKenna will do all he can to ensure we guard against complacency. This team has looked anything but complacent for the last month and for as long as we are needing points to get top two have nothing to be complacent about. There are no easy opponents in this league.

They fight hard, though Lincoln were down to ten themselves yesterday.

Every game is a potential banana skin at this stage of the season.

Tasty. We are top scorers across all the divisions too (that was part of the metric which qualified us when we did, I am sure).

I want to see the game won before any changes if I’m honest.

With 5 subs allowed I don’t see the point in wholsesale changes pre match

We’ll be good again... one day

That would be stupid at this stage of the season. There are 5 games left- best team starts, get the game won and then make changes. If you are a Port Vale player you get a huge psychological lift seeing a team sheet an hour before kick off with no Davis, Burns, Broadhead on it.

It's financial contributions towards other fair play things or respect campaigns. Something like that. No qualification for Europe anymore. Stopped around 2013ish.
