Going to be a few leaving this summer 17:03 - May 7 with 3894 views | gtsb1966 | The last few transfer windows we've all been excited to see who is joining but it's going to be just as interesting to see who goes and I don't mean because we get a bid we can't turn down but because KM doesn't want them. I can't see many coming in but this transfer window could be the most interesting since the takeover.
Going to be a few leaving this summer on 17:25 - May 7 with 3742 views | southnorfolkblue | I reckon that we could see the following depart: Keogh, Aluko, Pigott, Harper, Ahadme, Ndaba would be the most likely to leave imho Wouldn’t be surprised if Edmundson, Jackson, Donacien, Evans and Harness left. As an outside bet, we might look to upgrade on Ladapo. Find loans for El Miz and Humphreys I can see us looking for 2 CBs, a RB, 2 CM and a 2 or 3 attacking options. That assumes that Hurst and Luongo don’t resign. Hopefully both do.

Leaving (loan, sold or contract ends) Keogh, Aluko, Pigott, Penny, Harper, Ahadme, Coleman Jackson, good guy but we’ve seen him in Champ and its time to upgrade Evans and or Camera, it’s possible there is still space for both KVY, probably needs games elsewhere Vlad, probably needs games elsewhere Loan for El Miz, Baggot and possibly Ndaba Incoming Looking for GK, LCB, RB, 2 CM and 3 attacking options (10, Burns cover and Striker). Assuming that Luongo, TJJ and Hirst might fit 3 of the incoming. If that’s the case it’s net +3 new players that push us on in the Championship.

I don't see many situations where their hand will be forced without major compensation.... its what the large recruitment team has been put in place for after all.

Did I miss the narrative this season? Why is Edmundson popping up on the out list?

I think Camara at least deserve a crack at it, been injured too much to pass a judgement. Might be a good player there.

Because we’ll need better. I’m not convinced Burgess will make the step up, but he’s the man in possession.

Going to be a few leaving this summer on 11:28 - May 8 with 2755 views | BigCommon | Penney, KVY, Keogh, Aluko, Piggot, Harper, all spring straight to mind.. But a week is a long time in football. We went from being an unstoppable train during the run in, where it was harder to single out too many. To that very flat display yesterday, where quite a few were found wanting. If we are going to be ruthless in any squad rebuilding. Then now is the time to do it, imo. Personally, a couple of weeks back, I was thinking that we'd only need 3 or 4 to bolster the squad. I'm now thinking 6 or 7. ...Our current "depth" is mid table L1 standard. Imo. And KM has rinsed every drop out of them. And whilst everyone associated with the club is in celebratory promotion party mode, atm..A few weeks from now, it will be back to business. And we could see some surprise leavers, imo. Depending on what next season's brief is.. we've got some decent Championship standard players in the building. But they are vastly out numbered by decent L1 standard players, imo... Yesterday was a wake up call for me. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Going to be a few leaving this summer on 12:01 - May 8 with 2668 views | LancsBlue | Our owners are serious people and the same can be said for Ashton and McKenna. We won't be looking for cover players but as in January, serious upgrades. It could be quite ruthless as per Clarke/Donacien in January. I think we will be looking for: A top quality centre-back to play alongside Woolfenden, with Burgess and Edmondson as cover A young and energetic midfielder to play alongside Morsy - possibly back in for Taylor. Luongo to get another year as support/back-up. Camara possibly fourth option if he gets fully fit, probably ahead of Evans and certainly Ball, one, if not both of which, may leave. A wide right player with Burns becoming competition/stand-in, much as Jackson has done for him this year. Some might see that as harsh I understand, but I'm not convinced that Burns is top-end Championship which is the ambition for next year. Two strikers - one of which will be Hirst. Ladapo down to third choice/back-up. Five quality players in and a mini clearout.

I don’t know why so many TWTDers are moaning so much about yesterday. It was totally irrelevant and it was obvious they wouldn’t be 100% up for it. And it was a pleasing capper for the Banter Era in many ways.

I imagine we will be looking for 2 central midfielders, 1 could be Luongo. That’s Morsy, Luongo, Ball, NEW 1, plus Evo and Camera. It’s entirely possible we will head off with 5 CMs, but 6? Camera has missed a lot of football, where does he get the minutes to reenergise his game ahead of all that. We’ve not even mentioned El Miz or Humphries! [Post edited 8 May 2023 12:15]

I’d be concerned with his fitness. Missed the second half of last season with a serious ankle injury, didn’t look comfortable when playing in the early part of this season and then out again since December. Imo I’d offer him as a makeweight in a deal to get Cashin from Derby.

I don’t think there’s anything to be read into yesterdays game, it was an end of season dead rubber. Still think the fact remains there’s going to be 10 or so players on their way, some getting on / contracts up, some clearly not fancied and perhaps 1 or 2 that we don’t deem valuable for the step up. That was always the case regardless. KVY, Penney, Keogh, Aluko, Coleman, Ndaba almost certainly. Harper, Pigott very likely if we can find a home for them. Evans, Jackson, Camara, Harness, possibly 1 or 2 of those. I would imagine we’ll see at least 6 coming in. Taylor, Hirst, John-Jules are likely suspects.

But it wasn't a dead rubber. We were playing for the title. And 100/100, would have meant a lot, to a lot of supporters. Plymouth got promoted last week. And still went out and got the job done yesterday. End of the day, I'm happy we got promoted. But I've learned quite a lot about some of our squad this week. Professionalism, mentality, attitude. Beneath the pyro smoke, they will all be under the microscope. If KMs much talked about, attention to detail, is anything to go by. You may recall a young Alex Ferguson, rollicking his Aberdeen side on the pitch, 5 minutes after winning the Scottish Cup... Some people's standards are higher than others. The level of standard kept by an individual, are a massive factor in determining their ceiling, imo.

Yesterday wasn't a dead rubber, but the players knew the real objective had been reached the week before & I'm sure some of them expected Plymouth to win. It was also an illustration of how important Morsy is to the team & that Ball might not be good enough for what we hope will be an upwardly mobile Championship side. The plus is that Town probably do have a recruitment plan & the owners will be willing to fund it because they won't make any money out of owning Town if they languish in the Championship. The excellent January window is hopefully a forerunner of more to come.
