I'm back in Scotland now (lovely weather but not enough of a breeze to keep the midges down...) but saw the whole of The Go! Team's set at Bearded Theory a couple of weeks ago, very decent although I think they suffered a bit from being put on the big stage early afternoon first full day of the festival. As headliners they should be excellent late evening in a smaller venue. |  |

I’ll be there, here are my recommendations for the average 6 Music Dad…
Ditz at the baths at 7… excellent 6 music set this week, search new music fix to listen.
Then to the wonderful new church for some of memorials, followed by picture parlour (loads of hype nothing out yet - could potentially be a hidden gem) followed by Pulled apart by horses & 86TVs (3 of the Maccabees, just signed to Parlaphone, plus the ex-drummer from the stereophonics, saw their debut gig at Omera and it was awesome, this is at the corn exchange)…
Then maybe the baths and some excellent DJIng from Maria Chiara Argiró and Jamz Supernova DJ as booked by John Peel’s son Tom Ravenscroft.

I was going to post that I had watched Heartworms for a few minutes at Bearded Theory and wasn't pulled in (went off to the Main Stage to watch Hot 8 Brass Band and felt I made the right choice) but I didn't want to contradict ABB's recommendation or give any disincentive to anyone undecided on Brighten The Corners.
But now that they have pulled out I think I can say that in my opinion it is no great shakes. | |
