I'd love to know what they tell the 'experts' before the interview. They MUST tell them that it's a comedy show, and how they manage to keep a straight face I don't know.
I don’t understand who or what Philomena Cunk is supposed to be satirising?
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Some of the stuff she comes out with is so ridiculous, and the experts responses so cutting, they must realise it's a wind up even if they haven't explicitly been told.

I don't think it's supposed to be satire, irreverent perhaps but she doesn't turn it around on the interviewee the way Ali G did for example, she's usually the butt of her own jokes. It's the silly stuff that tickles me, like volcano being latin for angry hill

My daughter got me into watching this. Loved the line about Britain kicking out the Romans because they wanted their Britain back, only to spend the next 400 years in the dark ages. Or something like that.

It's absurdist comedy to hold a mirror up to the wilfully self-destructive choices humankind in general, and the British public in particular, have made.
