Ipswich are favourites to sign #CFC attacker Omari Hutchinson on loan after holding positive talks. Has other options to consider though so not made final decision yet. More here: https://t.co/QSQnt84MsD
Speculation now featuring in The Athletic, we are moving up in the world, I suspect this going to happen now. Quite an exciting move. Shades of Fraser...

And now Fab!
Chelsea’s talent Omari Hutchinson in concrete and advanced talks to join Ipswich Town on loan, as called by @TheChelseaSpot. 🔵✨ #CFC
How good Is this guy? Clearly has something.. but intrigued to know is this one of those loans that in 5 years time we can't believe he was once on loan with us..

If the recruitment team and Mckenna are interested they are clearly seeing something. He's coming in with a bit of time and he's a flexible frontman.Feels like a Fraser type signing. You're are also correct in saying he might be hopeless.

I'd put him in the same bracket as Ewan Ferguson at Brighton. We wanted him even though he was capable of making an impact in the top-flight. A lot of noise has been made saying Hutchinson could make the step up already too. He'll be a very versatile addition. The more I think about it, the more I reckon we've moved for Hutchinson as Rak-Sakyi may not even be loaned out given his pre-season form for Palace so far.

Ah no sorry, wasn't saying be might be hopeless. More of him being a star in years to come and we look back and think we actually had him on loan.. kinda like Preston with Beckham.

‘HERE WE GO’
“TWTD understands” imminent
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Will be interesting to see if Town can beat other championship clubs to his signing.
We are newly promoted and therefore an unkown quantity and we may need to re-establish our reputation. Deal might also come down to who can guarantee him the most starts.
In our favour of course is top class coach, the football we play and 30k crowds every week.

We need to use the "Pennington-Livermore-Colback-Townsend-Williams-Celina-Fraser-Lawrence-dos Santos" scale.
I'd settle for him being a Fraser or a Lawrence, but obviously we'd all love him to be anything close to a dos Santos.

Who is the Chelsea Manager? Pochettino
Make a list of Championship Managers who have worked with him developing young players:
1. Kieran McKenna
2. Ummm...
Our Manager is a hell of an asset!
For those wondering whether Hutchinson is good enough to play against Championship players, and whether he might be able to step up from Prem 2, well he did have the odd moment against some alright players last season. He doesn't look too slow or lightweight against the lads wearing light blue near the beginning if this clip, and one or two of them could certainly hold their own in the Championship...

Based on the highlights he looks like he mostly plays from the right and comes inside on his stronger left foot. It'll be interesting to see if he's seen as someone to upgrade on Burns but with a change in how we play or whether he's competition for Chappers as a 10 but in a kind of inside right position.

Or whether Burns' injury is serious?

I think that was likely an area we would have been looking to strengthen in any case, hence the links to Rak-Sakyi since the back end of last season. Not that McKenna gives much away but it didn't sound like the injury to Burns was anything too bad, just not worth risking him in a friendly.

We're only an unknown quantity to random fans. If Chelsea can scout the next big thing in Guinea-Bissau then they'll know all about us

I think it’s for burns given the interest in raksayki now Hutchinson.

Maybe Burns injury is going to keep him out for a while and we'll get both Hutchinson and Rak?

Hutchinson is a very different player to Burns - I'd say more an inside forward in the Broadhead/Chaplin mould. Likes to play off the right but comes inside on his left foot - perhaps we will see Clarke play more like Davis at times this season, especially if we are trying Davis as an inverted full back in pre-season.

Not really seeing the Fraser-type comparisons really?
I think in the Championship you get three types of loan players:
1) Young kids (17-20) on their first loans with a really big reputation in youth football. 2) Older kids (20-21) who have had good(ish) loan spells previously, either in L1/L2 or as squad players in the Championship 3) Fully-formed pros (21+) who have played a fair bit of senior football but not currently needed by their parent club.
Fraser was more in the 3rd group, Hutchinson would be in the 1st.
