I think I heard the 4 Ipswich fans in the stand chanting “you don’t know what you’re doing” in the direction of McKenna.

I thinks that's very harsh. All of our players look very good technically, and that must be down to McKenna. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

My view is there is more to Jackson's game than pace, and it seems McKenna thinks so too. He has put in two very good crosses, one of which led to the goal. And this against a team last season with a good defensive record. [Post edited 19 Jul 2023 19:48]

I'm a big fan of Ball but though he's struggled a little bit but nothing major.just didn't look comfortable and giving the ball away a bit. Prefer him at CM or CB.

Technically he is not as good as his teammates but his pace is top drawer, his movement much improved, and he looks up and picks his final pass. Those are all very good attributes. I like Jackson as it goes and have always defended him on here, it was just an observation that he tends to 'look' like he's not a great footballer but he can be incredibly effective.

Freddie guilty of that alot in that half. Can't really take much from a friendly and it doesn't contain any new players so not much to learn that we didn't know.

He's been ok. But it also shows how someone with that extra level of talent will really have a good time with our set up.

There were 11 subs warming up in the corner at one point so they may well have been unable to find it.

He's done well. Whenever he's featured over the last 9 months or so he's offered a threat, especially on that right hand side. He's not the best footballer but he's focusing on what he does well, which is what McKenna wants from him, and it's made him very effective in our system.

You got a down vote here but is not wrong if you look at this in a positive way. McKenna in Jackson's own words didn't look at his flaws. He looked at Jackson's attributes and he has them he's quick he works his nuts off and actually you have to say he final ball is often good. His head up and cut back for the goal was fantastic (as was the touch to kill it for Chaplin (who was that?). Jackson is never going to be a regular but he offers something and he's fighting for a place in that 25. So much respect for him. He is a fighter.

Strength in depth looks great. Aluko looks strong and still pace. Jack Taylor had been quiet. Then gets the ball and puts the absolute afterburners on. Didn't realise he was so quick.

I respect Jackson’s honesty. He was treated like poo a bit, dropped to the reserves but has shown professionalism to keep himself fit and available and work his way into McKenna’s options. Do I think he’s a player that would start 30+ games for a side towards the top of the championship? Probably not, but he has dangerous attributes and with 9 subs allowed on the bench he’s got a role to play.
