Saudi Arabian league football 21:26 - Jul 19 with 2741 viewsSE1blue

Has anyone watched any of it? I imagine it’s terrible quality but am I wrong?

I’m just curious about these big names playing with really inexperienced (read crap) footballers and how that’s going to work.

I watched one game with Ronaldo literally coaching players whilst playing himself. It's awful

Would be a good move if you’re injury prone and can sneak through a medical.

Our relegation side could’ve been sipping cocktails instead of heading to Colchester.

Haha. Right!

There’s no way this can work. You’re taking a group of men who literally live for everything your country doesn’t allow…

I saw him encouraging others to come this morning. He’s probably just wanting to stop being the dad kicking the ball at a kids party.

Have you read how much Gerards team are talking about on 22:18 - Jul 19 with 2494 viewsunstableblue

…. Paying Henderson

“ Al Ettifaq have proposed more than tripling Jordan Henderson's £200,000-a-week salary with a two-year contract, including a third-year option; Henderson has two years left on his current Liverpool deal”

The world has gone mad

To be fair, the only phrase he needs to learn in Arabic is “hoof it up the field”…

I mean there’s no way that’s true (re. the reply). These clubs will pay big names to raise the profile, but why would they pay step 7 players that sort of money when a) they don’t have to, b) will do nothing to raise their profile and c) wouldn’t be of a standard to compete over there.

Step 7 is the Suffolk and Ipswich League Premier.

Off the top of my head - without checking to back this up - I seem to recall that Henderson and Ronaldo are tee-total. And Kante, Benzema, Koulibaly and Mendy are practicing Muslims, so I’m assuming (again, not checked this) don’t drink?

Won’t account for everyone - I know Firminio was caught for drunk driving for instance - but given the profile of players signed, the lack of alcohol may not be an issue.

Maybe meant Tier7, which is below National League North / South and still sounds mad.

Surely you'd be mad not to give it a go?

I see Mitrovic is mad 'cos Fulham don't want to let him go.

Personally I hope they (Saudis) use their financial clout to disrupt CL teams, take away Mbappe, Mahrez, etc. and see if it helps make domestic leagues more competitive and have those self same CL clubs moan about financial doping.

Is there a Saudi team due at the World Club Championship? How long til the win it?

Then how long before they gain access to European competition?

The women’s game isn’t of a very high quality - and they have a very hands off approach to some things we hold dear. But Newcastle are doing OK.
